Also the thought of one player trying to represent a team in 2 esports amuses me.

I do feel this impending retirement is a bit bigger news than him leaving the team.

Yeah, I didn’t want to put ‘retires’ into the title, since he’ll stick around for 2 more months. We’ll make him a proper thread once that date comes around.

I mean, he s allready out if GSL and CTC is on pause atm. So there isn t much to play in appart from EPT and Olimoleague. If I d be him, I d take this time as a mineature sabbatical for 2 month and go on holiday (as far as Corona allows it). So I defantly don t expect him to stick around for a lot of online competitions until military service starts.

I personally think just put going to military service in the title will be the better choice

Maybe LP could take Solar in his place?
That would be awsome.
He s probably the best player out there without a team atm.
But I could imagine, that Solar might be to expensive for them. I mean he ll not goin to ask for as much as Inno or TY, but probably quite a bit more than Impact did.

Impact, born in 1995, goes to the military. He could have had almost three more years as a pro. Hopefully he keeps playing while doing his service, then he could still return to progaming afterwards.
There are screenshots of their conversation released by Team LP that suggest that he is not planning to continue his career after the military service unlike some of the other players. Maybe he just lost his motivation after all these years

Honestly I think it’s probably time for a new chapter of his life, better to quit now than to hang on while having a hard time living between paycheck and quit at 30.
Hopefully he’ll still find the time to pop out once in a while to play in a few cups.

Good luck to Impact if he indeed heads out to do his Military service, i guess doing it now might mean he will be relaxing with Jaedong as he does it!

Yeah, he ll be 27, when he s finished military. He could still get a degree until he 30 and transition to a “normal” live.
Obviously getting harder, the older you get.
And not every single player can get a career in esports after retiring as an athlete…

I really think the Korean region could be over-represented at Katowice 2021 if we’re due like 4~5 retirements by then (soO, Zest, Impact, +????).
and Stats i think

And we have TRUE who just join the military two weeks ago, and sOs and INnovation who’s not going to have a full year in 2021, things does not look great for the korean scene.
The dream chaser will now go into the military with his idol jd, wish him best luck
