You race each other in a digital setting but with real laps. What our users really want is to be able to say they are faster than their friends. LapKing successfully merges lap by lap training with the fun of a video game!

Software developers routinely turn action sports into video games, but LapKing’s reality video game concept is different.

“You race each other in a digital setting but with real laps. What our users really want is to be able to say they are faster than their friends. LapKing successfully merges lap by lap training with the fun of a video game!” said JC Chappell, LapKing Co-Founder.

LapKing brings the “vibes” of race day to any day. In a time of social distancing, this concept is even more appealing. “LapKing provides a way for you to play a video game, but instead of pushing buttons on a controller, you are the player, and your talent on the track is your game play,” said Chappell.

Chappell entered the motocross racing world at the relatively old age of 13. Two years later, he took home second place in the Amateur National Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch. “I spent 20+ years racing motocross at both an amateur and professional national level. When you spend your youth chasing a professional dream, you work harder than anyone can imagine,” said Chappell.

Vince Monteleone’s parents surprised him with a shiny new dirt bike for Christmas when he was 3 years old. “From that moment on the drug of motocross was injected directly into my bloodstream,” said Vince Monteleone, Co-Founder of LapKing. A string of serious injuries killed his dream of being a pro motocross racer. “During these years away from motocross, I tried everything to fill the void. All the way from racing go-karts, snowboarding, wakeboarding, mountain biking, and more. Nothing came close to what I truly loved though, motocross.”

Chappell and Monteleone met at the University of North Texas. They joined forces to create a training aid for motocross lap times. They decided to bottle the excitement of their youth and create an experience that mimicked their childhood race days. “We understand race days with family and friends are rare. We wanted to amplify the experience with a unique twist. Bring ‘race day vibes’ on any day and any location,” said Monteleone. So the Home of Social Racing was born.

What makes LapKing different from other racing apps is the company’s patented track cutting prevention technology. It makes it so that racers can be at the track at different times or even different days and rely on the results. “It’s a gate drop at the click of a button,” said Monteleone.

LapKing is offering exclusive licenses of the app and its patented technology for defined business segments.
