Movies Anywhere Will Soon Allow You To Share Movies With Friends

While we have streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video–among many others–there are also digital movie rental and purchasing services like Movies Anywhere. And for those of us who have extensive digital collections, you’ll soon be able to share the movies in your collection with your friends.

Movies Anywhere’s upcoming service, Screen Pass, will allow users to pick a movie from their My Screen Pass Eligible Movies section inside the My Movies section and share them with a friend, for a limited amount of time. You can share three Screen Passes a month. After you send one, your friend has seven days to accept it, and then 14 days to start watching the movie. Once it’s started, they have 72 hours to finish it.

Currently, Screen Pass is in a closed beta. There will be an open beta soon for the service, with a full launch more than likely coming later in the year.

In a press release some of the notable movies listed that are eligible with this service are The Fate of the Furious, Wonder Woman, Logan, Trolls, The Lego Movie, and Groundhog Day. Participating studios are who decides what it eligible for this service.

There are no fees for this service. It is free as long as you meet the minimum requirements. In order to become eligible for Screen Pass, you need to purchase a movie from a Movies Anywhere connected retailer or redeem a non-promotional digital code at least once every six months.

You must be a resident of the United States in order to use this service.
