There are plenty of choices for streaming services out there. Between Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and others, you are probably paying a good amount of money for all these. However, there are plenty of free services–like Crackle–that offer up new content every single month. Here is what is coming to Crackle this April.
While Crackle is free, it is ad-supported, meaning as the content you select plays, you’re going to get some ads. There are 30-second and 90-second ad breaks scattered throughout the movies and TV shows, but it’s a free service. Additionally, there is original and exclusive content on the service as well.
The coolest exclusive for the upcoming month is the documentary Memory: The Origins of Alien. The film takes an in-depth look at the film that redefined science fiction. This includes adapting the artwork of H.R. Giger and director Ridley Scott’s vision for the film. Check out the trailer for the film below.
There is a wide-variety of films and TV shows arriving, including the cringe-worthy classic Double Dragon, very mildly based on the video game of the same name. Starring Mark Dacascos (The Chairman on Iron Chef America) and Scott Wolf (Party of Five), the movie follows two brothers who have half of an ancient Chinese talisman, and they need to get the other half from an evil gang leader. It is not a great movie, but it is unintentionally hilarious.
If you’re looking for a horror movie to watch, you can check out the horror anthology films V/H/S 2 and V/H/S: Viral–the third movie in the series. Different directors give their takes on the horror genre in what is a pretty fun series. V/H/S 2 is one of the best of the series, and we highly recommend watching it, especially for the stories “Phase I Clinical Trials” and “Safe Haven.” While Viral is considered the weakest of the series, “Dante the Great” and “Parallel Monsters” are both great stories in the series.
