100T vs EG LCS Summer 2022 Lower Bracket Finals Recap

With a 3-2 result, 100 Thieves got themselves an opportunity to get revenge on Cloud9 in LCS Summer 2022 Finals, while Evil Geniuses is eliminated from the title contention.

100T vs EG – Game 1 (0-1)

The first blood of the series came from 100T after a great repeat gank from Closer in the mid lane. Despite EG’s more early game-focused draft, 100T had established a very early 1k gold lead. While the Thieves managed to protect their gold lead through mid game, EG had control over the first objectives with the lead Kaori got. Once the fights started, EG had complete dominance over them, even though they had a range disadvantage. They put themselves on Soul point and even got a Baron after punishing 100T’s bait around the objective. After the Baron siege, EG had over 8k gold lead. 100T put up a good fight to delay the game a little more but after EG got the Ocean Soul it was an uphill battle. EG ended the game after they got an ace with a Baron turn.

100T vs EG – Game 2 (1-1)

Game 2 had a very exciting start with a solo kill for Ssumday in the top lane for first blood, but EG answered strongly with a solo kill in the mid lane and a double kill for Kaori in bot. EG also had control over objectives, taking the first two Heralds and the first drake. After EG took the first turret of the game, they had nearly 2k gold lead. 100T had some good map movements in mid game which secured them some towers and kept the gold close. The momentum shifted in a blink when 100T found an ace in the fourth drake fight, which then led to a Baron for them. EG decided to fight instead of waiting out the Baron buff, but the fight itself did not go well. 100T found two kills, but the man advantage was enough for them to push for the end and tie the series.

100T vs EG – Game 3 (1-2)

EG came out of the gate with fury after their second game loss. Inspired was very active in the early game, getting kills in the bot lane and mid lane to give his team an early lead. With these advantages, EG secured both early objectives and they extended their lead using Heralds. 100T did not have too many answers to EG’s map pressure and they couldn’t contest many drakes. But even with the kills EG found, they could not secure a Baron until nearly 30 minutes. But once the Baron was secured after a good fight in 100T’s red side jungle, EG lead was pushed to over 10k gold. EG then sieged top side with their Baron and found one last good engage. Being down this much, 100T couldn’t hold EG back and the game ended in a dominant fashion.

  • Teams: EG – 100T
  • Time: 30:29
  • Kills: 16 – 1
  • Turrets: 10 – 1

  • Dragons: 4 – 0
  • Barons: 1 – 0

100T vs EG – Game 4 (2-2)

The fourth game was slower than the previous ones when it came to early kills. Closer was the difference maker in this game after having a slow start to the series. The 100T jungler found the first kills for his team and controlled the early game objectives. The Thieves used Heralds to establish their gold lead, while also stacking drakes to get themselves to a fast Soul point. But just like EG in Game 3, they had to secure a Baron before they were able to properly siege the enemy base, even with a huge gold lead. After their Baron, they also found an ace, which grew their lead to over 10k on top of the Mountain Soul. Just before the Elder spawned and maybe EG had one last chance, Closer found a great pick on Jojopyun which forced EG to defend with a disadvantage. But the overwhelming gold difference meant they couldn’t hold on as 100T killed the nexus and rewarded the fans with a Game 5.

  • Teams: 100T – EG
  • Time: 33:17
  • Kills: 16 – 5
  • Turrets: 10 – 1
  • Gold: 68.5k – 52.1k
  • Dragons: 4 – 0
  • Barons: 2 – 0

100T vs EG – Game 5 (3-2)

Talking about slow games, there was no kill to be found in Game 5 as both teams were very cautious in their early play. 100T had a modest cs lead on their ADC and they were stacking the early drakes, but EG got the gold lead after they stole the Herald and used it to get the first tower for Kaori. But their lead did not matter as 100T’s comp was better at teamfighting and they aced EG while putting themselves on Soul point. EG had no answers to Soraka’s healing and they kept losing fights with a near margin. They gave up the Baron and Ocean Soul to 100T. At this point, there was no real chance EG could’ve held their base and 100T pushed for the finish. They found one last engage and cleaned up EG, securing their place in the Finals.

  • Teams: EG – 100T
  • Time: 30:22
  • Kills: 3 – 15
  • Turrets: 4 – 18
  • Gold: 49.3k – 58.8k
  • Dragons: 1 – 4
  • Barons: 0 – 1
