2022 NFL Top 100: 20-11

Now that the 2022 NFL Draft is over, the TGH staff have ranked their top 100 players ahead of the 2022 NFL season. 

Multiple TGH staff members voted on their top 100 players, who were given scores based on their ranks, then sorted by their final score. The players were ranked regardless of position, and the editors broke any ties at their discretion.

Each article in this series will list 10 players at a time, with brief comments on their 2021 performances and what is expected of them in 2022. Make sure to check back every Friday for the next 10 players in our list!

Today, we list and evaluate players 20-11 in our list of the 2022 NFL Top 100.

20. Ja’Marr Chase

In his rookie season, Chase put his name in the record books. He finished the year with 81 receptions for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns. That is really impressive for someone in their first season and it looks like he could be a massive star in the league. His connection with former LSU teammate Joe Burrow has already shown. After being a key reason the Bengals made the Super Bowl, he is in store for a huge 2022. -Joe DiTullio

19. Tyreek Hill

Tyreek Hill, the “cheetah” himself, remains one of the fastest players in the entire league. In 2021, he had 1,239 receiving yards, which marked his fourth 1,000-plus yard season in his six years in the NFL. He came just short of double-digit touchdowns last year, catching nine. This was a downturn from his 15 touchdown 2020 season. Hill will take his talents to South Beach next year, and attempt to prove that he can put up the same kinds of numbers without Patrick Mahomes. -Ben Hendricks

18. Micah Parsons

Parsons immediately showed he was an impact player during his rookie season in 2021. He spent time at both linebacker and defensive end, helping the Cowboys’ pass rush when needed. The rookie registered 84 total tackles and 13 sacks, even though he didn’t spend the whole time rushing the quarterback. Dallas had a much improved defense in 2021 and Parsons was a big reason why. After a good start to his career, expect Parsons to take a step forward in his second season. -Joe DiTullio

17. Zack Martin

Consistency is exactly what Martin provides. The eight-year vet made the All-Pro Team and Pro Bowl last season. His blocking is something that doesn’t get enough credit it deserves, as it allowed the Cowboys to have the highest-scoring offense in the league during the 2021 season. While the Cowboys’ offensive line isn’t what it once was, Martin is still playing very good football. -Joe DiTullio

16. Nick Bosa

Bosa has played three years in the NFL and has already earned the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2019 and is a two-time Pro Bowler, earning his second Pro Bowl bid in 2021. He racked up 52 tackles, 15.5 sacks and had four forced fumbles throughout the season. He also led the league in tackles for a loss with 21. Bosa will be looking to continue his dominance in 2022 with another great season. -Matthew Brown

15. Deebo Samuel

Samuel has spent three years in the NFL but broke out in a big way this past season. He made a name for himself in being one of the most versatile receivers in the NFL. He can do it all whether it is being a receiver or being a running back.

Samuel had over 1,400 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns during the 2021 season. Furthermore, Samuel ranked first in yards per reception with 18.5. He also had 365 yards rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. The 49ers receiver earned his first Pro Bowl bid this past season and was a instrumental player in the 49ers’ deep playoff run. -Matthew Brown

14. Jonathan Taylor

Taylor cemented himself as one of the best running backs in the league during the 2021 season. He led the league in rushing, despite not having the best quarterback play to take defenders out of the box. With a good offensive line returning and a new quarterback for the Colts, his production could actually improve after he rushed for over 1,800 yards in 2021. The Colts will still lean on Taylor as they look to win the division. -Joe DiTullio

13. J.C. Jackson

In 17 games in 2021, Jackson had eight interceptions, a touchdown, 58 combined tackles and a league-leading 23 passes defended. Despite that massive season, which included a Pro Bowl nod, the Patriots let him sign with the Los Angeles Chargers. That’s no doubt a head-scratching move, as Jackson will continue to dominate in 2022. -Ben Hendricks

12. Josh Allen

At the outset of the 2021 season, the Buffalo Bills signed Josh Allen to a six-year, $258 million contract with at least $150 million in guaranteed money. He earned every penny with a 4,407 passing yards and 36 passing touchdowns to 15 interceptions. He added on 763 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns to his totals, and continues to be a threat to get outside of the pocket and run. Allen has some of the shortest odds to win NFL MVP next year, so it’s safe to say the sportsbooks might have him higher on a list like this than TGH does. -Ben Hendricks

11. Patrick Mahomes

In what was considered a “down” year, Mahomes still managed to throw for over 4,800 yards and 37 touchdowns to 13 interceptions. The 13 interceptions were the highest total of his career thus far, and the 37 scores were a far cry from his 50-touchdown MVP season, but Mahomes remains one of the best talents the NFL has to offer, regardless of position. He’ll remind everyone of that again in 2022, rest assured. -Ben Hendricks
