2022 Overwatch League Power Rankings: NA Rankings for 6/24

It has just been one week into the Midseason Madness qualifiers and things definitely look shaken up. The Dallas Fuel had their worst week in years going 0-6 this past week. The London Spitfire are challenging everyone in the arena to their Rush Comp. The Shock still look dominant, but the Defiant look to be locked in the meta of the past. Teams are adjusting to a new meta that includes the emergence of Sojourn. Not every team is doing well with the adjustment, and are failing to find success after the break.

[Last Week’s Power Rankings]

Because APAC did not play in the first week of the Midseason Madness, this iteration of the TGH Power Rankings will focus solely on the North American region.

NA Power Rankings
1. Los Angeles Gladiators (Last Week: 1)

The Kickoff Clash champs are looking a bit shaky coming off of a long tournament. Their individual talent carried them against a rebuilding Paris roster, rather than elite tactics and comp choices. There shouldn’t be too much of a worry for them heading into week 2, as they again only have a single opponent to focus on.

2. San Francisco Shock (Last Week: 4)

The Shock are simply feeling themselves so far. A 3-0 over Dallas and another 3-0 over the Uprising have them still undefeated in regular season play. They have a tough week ahead of them this time around, but they look to be firing on all cylinders already in this young qualifier period.

3. Dallas Fuel (Last Week: 2)

Ooof. Rough outing for the Fuel. This team is known to be slow adapters and this 0-6 start can easily be attributed to that. Dallas fans stay hopeful, this team won’t stay down long.

4. Atlanta Reign (Last Week: 3)

Kai “Kai” Collins is a menace on the Sojourn. There’s simply no stopping him when he’s on a rampage, and teams need to be ready to handle his onslaught.

5. Florida Mayhem (Last Week: 5)

The Florida Mayhem are a team that looks good, until they don’t. They lost a heartbreaker to the London Spitfire, but looked impressive against the Toronto Defiant. That sadly sounds like a gatekeeper team to me. They won’t be able to bust into the top four if they can’t win those close games against teams that are looking to punch up.

6. Houston Outlaws (Last Week: 6)

The Outlaws sit third in the overall standings, but they don’t really feel like a third place team. They are still struggling to do much when they aren’t on Doomfist, but they are at least trying to play other comps. That’s a good start at least.

7. London Spitfire (Last Week: 9)

Woah look out because these pilots are looking to take anyone in a dogfight. The Spitfire shook up their regular repertoire of Rush comps by adding some Sigma into the mix. They looked really strong on Poke comps, and this could be a team that ends up a dark horse to win in Hawaii.

8. Washington Justice (Last Week: 8)

Boo the Justice. Just decide if you are good or not.

9. Toronto Defiant (Last Week: 7)

Yikes, the Toronto Defiant are addicted to playing Winston comps even when they are getting steamrolled. It looks like losing their head coach hurt their preparations a bit. Maybe they join the rest of the league and leave Winston on the sidelines.

10. Boston Uprising (Last Week: 10)

One moment they are the worst team in the world. The next they look, well, alright I guess. Boston needs to seriously but this idea of “subbing players out” to rest and just play their best players. Simple stuff.

11. Paris Eternal (Last Week: 11)

New DPS, no problem. Paris look re-energized, even if their record doesn’t show it. A win against New York isn’t the best feather to put in their cap but at least they have one in the win column.

12. Vancouver Titans (Last Week: 13)

The Iron Shoulder still needs some time to straighten this team out. They looked a but more competitive, but still look like the worst team in the league.

13. New York Excelsior (Last Week: 12)

And here we are with the worst team in the league, and they aren’t even winless. The New York Excelsior have so many problems it’s tough to even start to think about how to fix it all. So they decided a third flex support is the right move. Sorry NYXL fans, this one is gonna be a long season.
