In Slime Rancher 2, Beatrix LeBeau embarks to the mysterious Rainbow Island for an all-new adventure, and Monomi Park took this as an opportunity to find all the ways we could improve the world of Slime Rancher while still retaining the core of what made the original so unique and fun to play.
Replacing Beatrix’s dusty ranch is a dazzling, glass conservatory that gives her a panoramic view of Rainbow Island. The Conservatory contains everything you’ll need to get ranching in this new world, including the new comm station where you can talk directly with other characters like Viktor, Ogden, and Mochi, as well as offering a fully kitted-out slime science lab right from the start. And you’ll need it, because in Slime Rancher 2, even vacpack upgrades need to be crafted, including the highly prized extra vac tanks!
Speaking of slime science, Slime Rancher 2 introduces a host of new resources to collect, including new materials like prismatic radiant ore. But you won’t need to use extractors on this adventure, because jelly stone, deep brine, strange diamonds, wild honey and more can all be found in the world itself, waiting for you to vac it up. This change really makes exploring the world so much more rewarding.
In fact, the whole of Rainbow Island is bursting with little nooks and crannies for you to find new slimes, new resources, treasure pods, and other secrets. We really invested in enriching the experience of exploring the world, and diversifying the environments. In Slime Rancher 2, a single biome may have multiple themes, including the fan-favorite ancient ruins from the original Slime Rancher sprinkled all over the world, offering a wonderful texture of antiquity to this mysterious, prismatic paradise.
There’s a new dawn coming for the world of Slime Rancher and we can’t wait for you and the millions of other ranchers out there to join us in exploring this beautiful new corner of the Far, Far Range that we’ve created, and the avalanche of new slimes that call it home!
Slime Rancher 2 is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Windows 10 PC, and day one with Xbox Game Pass in 2022.
