The following are betting tips for selected fixtures in Round 19 of the 2022 AFL season.

Sydney vs. Adelaide

Adelaide have gone 1-8 as the away underdog over the last twelve months and seven of those defeats were by 25+ points. The Crows have gone 2-9 in their last eleven games with their two wins coming over the struggling West Coast and North Melbourne. Adelaide have gone 3-6 at the line as the away underdog over the last twelve months and they failed to cover the line in seven of their last ten games against Sydney. The Swans have won their last four home games and five of their eight home wins over the last twelve months were by 40+ points. I would back Sydney 25+ at 1.55 (PlayUp).

Brisbane vs. Gold Coast

Brisbane have gone 7-1 at home this season with their sole defeat coming against Essendon when the Lions were ravaged by covid protocols. Brisbane have won 7 of the last 8 when installed as the home favourite against the Suns and they have won seven consecutive games against their Queensland rivals. Seven of Brisbane’s last nine home wins over the Suns were by 40+ points and eight were by 25+ points. Gold Coast enter this game having lost three of their last four games. Six of their eight away defeats over the last twelve months were by 25+ points. I would back Brisbane in the head-to-head at 1.29 (PlayUp, Unibet). Those looking for more risk should consider Brisbane -22.5 at 1.91 (bet365).

Carlton vs. GWS

GWS have yet to beat a team ranked higher than 12th this season and their offence has dried up in the last two rounds, scoring just 29 points against Port Adelaide and 59 against Brisbane. Over the last twelve months five of the Giants’ seven away defeats were by 25+ points. Carlton lost to Geelong last week but they have gone 7-2 in both the head-to-head and the line on the back of a defeat over the last twelve months. The Blues have gone 5-1 both in the head-to-head and the line at Marvel Stadium this year. I would back Carlton in the head-to-head at 1.27 (Picklebet).
