Albania vs Andorra Match Analysis and Prediction

Albania are facing Andorra head-to-head on the final matchday of a World Cup 2022 Qualifying dead rubber which will take place in Group I on Monday. Edoardo Reja’s men are seeking a consolation of the third spot while Andorra cannot finish any lower or higher than fifth.

With two injuries, four yellow cards and five goals conceded, the Friday night’s match is possibly one of the worst first halves in Albania’s history.

Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire scored one each while Harry Kane got a hat-trick in a humiliating 45 minutes for Albania, whose hope of finishing in top two spot in Group I seem to have evaporated ahead of the final matchday.

The Red and Blacks have suffered back-to-back defeats in the tournament, though they had previously had a three-game winning  streak with three clean sheets. However, Albania have a strong chance of finishing their campaign on a high note in front of their supporters.

Andorra’s ninth matchday was not as emphatic as expected, as England thumped over Albania 5-0, however Koldo Alvarez’s side were still humbled 4-1 by Poland in front of a 1000-strong crowd.

Ricard Fernandez was sent out through a red card, as Kamil Jozwiak and Arkadiusz Milik scored for Poland a goal each, with Robert Lewandowski making out with a brace. Joan Cervos scored for Andorra through a free kick.

Alvarez’s side made a 3-0 victory over San Marino in their most recent clash on the road, after they had suffered six consecutive defeats away  – certainly they are the underdogs for Monday, even though Albania have lost quite a number of players coming into this match.

Albania had a 1-0 victory over Andorra on the opening day in March through Ermir Lenjani’s goal, however, the visitors have had confidence from their recent travels to Albania in 2019, where they shared a point in a 2-2 draw in Euro 2020 Qualifying battle.

Albania news

Ardian Ismajli, Klaus Gjasula and Sokol Cikalleshi have been ruled out of the squad, as Keidi Bare and Marash Kumbulla staying out due to injuries. Armando Broja is still a doubt after an ankle injury that kept him out in the England clash. Qazim Laci and Bekim Balaj may also feature.

Andorra news

Andorra will most probably be forced into their own change up due to suspension of Ricard Fernandez, so Albert Rosas might get the nod alongside Marc Pujol. Xavier Vieira will reclaim his place in the middle, as defender Marc Vales was withdrawn through injury in the Poland clash.

Prediction and Odds

Here it could be easy to back Albania to get through to win in this clash with a fully-fit squad, however Reja’s men are both low in numbers and confidence. Andorra have however proven to be an easy team to break through on the road, so it is expected of Albania pulling a narrow win on the final day.
