The 2022 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Andrew Nembhard 2022 NBA Draft Profile.

Andrew Nembhard Background

Nembhard spent four total seasons at two different schools during his college career. Now he is in the 2022 NBA Draft.

As a high school prospect, Nembhard was a five-star recruit who chose to attend Florida. He averaged 8.0 points and 5.4 assists per game as a freshman, then put up 11.2 points and 5.6 as a sophomore for the Gators. Heading into his junior year, he decided to transfer to Gonzaga. Nembhard averaged 9.2 points and 4.4 assists per game, as he helped the Bulldogs reach the National Championship Game. In his final season of college basketball, Nembhard finished the year with 11.8 points and 5.8 assists per game. Gonzaga was able to make the Sweet 16 before losing in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Following a longer college career, Nembhard is heading to the NBA. He is currently projected to be a late first-round pick or early second-round pick.

Andrew Nembhard Strengths

Nembhard is a playmaker at heart. He excels at setting up his teammates and running the offense. His court vision is among the best in the class. He is able to run the pick and roll well, as he did so at a high rate during his college days. As a true point guard, Nembhard makes his teammates better.

His shooting ability will also help his draft stock. Nembhard shoots pretty well from the floor and from behind the arc. He shot 45 percent from the floor and 38.3 percent from 3-point range. He can be effective off the dribble or off of the catch as a shooter. His shooting will allow him to play on or off the ball in the NBA.

He can be a very disruptive defender. At 6-foot-4, he has the size to guard point guards and wing players. He averaged 1.6 steals per game as he demonstrated his high basketball IQ and anticipation to jump passing lanes. Nembhard consistently got better throughout his college career on the defensive end and should be a solid defender in the NBA.

Andrew Nembhard Weaknesses

Nembhard is not great athletically as a prospect. He lacks quickness and speed, which can impact him on both ends of the floor. Nembhard is more crafty than athletic in his attempts to get to the basket. He also doesn’t have the jumping ability to finish consistently at the rim.

While creating for others is a strength, creating for himself is a weakness. He rarely can create his own shot, whether that is him getting to the basket or him creating space on the perimeter. In the NBA, it is not likely that he is going to be a big-time scorer.

At the age of 23, Nembhard won’t have as long as other prospects to develop. He is one of the older prospects in the draft and while his offensive game has some maturity to it, he will have less time to reach his ceiling than other prospects.

Projected Draft Range: Late First Round Pick-Early Second Round Pick
