ARC World Tour 2022 Tournament for Guilty Gear -Strive- & DNF Duel

Arc System Works announces the ARC World Tour 2022 invitational tournament for Guilty Gear -Strive- and DNF Duel. The developers for the participating games are hosting the tournament for eight winners that win qualifying tournaments worldwide.

Eight qualifying tournaments from 2022 to 2023 will determine the qualifying players participating in the final tournament. The competitor to win first place will earn their spot in either Guilty Gear -Strive- or DNF Duel.

Qualifier Tournament Locations and Dates

  • EVO 2022, LAS VEGAS. Nev.
  • VSFighting, BIRMINGHAM, England
  • REV Major, MANILA, Philippines
  • CEOtako, ORLANDO, Fla.
  • The MIXUP, LYON, France
  • FIGHTERS SPIRIT, South Korea
  • ARCREVO Japan 2022, TOKYO, Japan
  • Frosty Faustings, Ill.

The only tournament to not be considered a qualifier tournament for DNF Duel is EVO 2022. DNF Duel is not one of the main tournaments at the event. To take its place CEOtaku will have two participants and two spots for the final tournament.

The ARC World Tour 2022 Finals will take place in Mar. 2023, in Calif. This year’s ARC World Tour will have a total prize pool of $200,000.

This is the highest prize pool in the history of Arc System Work tournaments and anime fighters in general. Surpassing a few other major invitational tournaments and near as much as Capcom Cup.

With only eight participants for the finals, the value will be quite high and each player will be compensated for making it this far.

Prize Pool

  • First place $50,000 USD
  • Second place $20,000 USD
  • Third place $10,000 USD
  • Fourth place $6,000 USD
  • Tie for fifth place $4,000 USD
  • Tie for seventh place $3,000 USD

What Can We Expect

Because of the worldwide presence of the tournament, many will look forward to players from around the world participating. As DNF Duel is still relatively new and its first qualifier tournament until VSFighting in England in the middle of Aug, it’ll take time to see all the players’ skills put to the test.

With Guilty Gear, there have been several online and now offline tournaments to see which players stand out among the rest. Players such as Kev “K7 Showoff” Hunt, Julian “Hotashi” Harris, and “Masaya “Gobou” Shiratori have a strong presence in the game. With CEO 2022, players “Jonathan Tene” and “Razzo” after placing 1st and 2nd respectively showed that they might contest the spot for top players on the west coast.

It’s too early to say who will be running for top players for DNF Duel. Some players have been streaming the game to show their skills and participating in smaller online tournaments.

The game has been growing and many find the game to be very fun to play. The game is holding a steady player base on both Playstation consoles and PC.

However, it might be a while to see them all compete against each other unless they plan on traveling to many of the qualifying tournaments. But there is plenty to look forward to with the first year of the game’s launch because of the Arc World Tour.

The first qualifier tournament will be at EVO 2022, from Aug. 5-7. Guilty Gear -Strive- will have the largest presence in the tournament with 2,161 entries. The game will be featured in the EVO 2022 Arena Finals at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in LAS VEGAS, Nev.
