ARCTIC, Isurus top final SA open qualifier for Americas RMR

ARCTIC and Isurus have topped the third and last South America open qualifier for the Americas RMR, joining the list of teams that will compete in Stockholm, Sweden for a chance to make it to the IEM Rio Major in November.

The two rosters emerged victorious over the likes of Case, Sharks, and Fluxo, who will be left watching the Major in their home country from the sidelines after failing to qualify in all three of their attempts. Fluxo‘s members in particular will be left with their heads in their hands after squandering three different opportunities to advance, with MIBR, 00NATION, and O PLANO all making it through instead.

Noktse’s side have made it to the Americas RMR on their third try

ARCTIC and Isurus were also present in both of the previous qualifiers, but found themselves eliminated before series play could get underway. This time around it was different though, with ARCTIC finding success in matches against Furious and Paquetá to set up a qualifying match against Gustavo “SHOOWTiME” GonçalvesCorinthians.

There, ARCTIC claimed victory in two maps, the team as a whole stepping up to win their pick of Overpass before Allan “history” Lawrenz took complete control on Dust2, helping his side to come back from a 5-10 deficit and win the map 16-14, finishing with a 31-15 K-D.

Isurus, meanwhile, claimed revenge en route to booking their spot at the RMR, initially taking out Stars Horizon and ODDIK to set up a match against B4, who had knocked Nicolás “Noktse” Dávila‘s men out of the second qualifier in the round of 16 following an overtime win.

It remained a close affair in the rematch as B4 put Isurus on the back foot at the start of the series with a dominant win on Ancient; however, the Argentinian team showed tenacity and won their pick of Inferno to even the score, before recovering from an 0-8 deficit on Dust2 to come all the way back and edge out the win 16-13 to take the series and qualify.

Four spots at the Americas RMR are left to be distributed to teams from the last two North America open qualifiers, with the team list currently looking as follows:
