Astralis has confirmed Patrick “es3tag” Hansen’s transfer to Cloud9’s CS:GO team. The move was first reported by sport.tv2.dk and was confirmed a few hours via the official announcement.
The 24-year-old Danish joined Astralis for free in July after the end of his contract with Heroic. Heroic’s attempt to sign its roster over to FunPlus Phoenix for FLASHPOINT Season 1 ran into trouble when Astralis announced the signing.
Astralis and Cloud9 have agreed to a transfer of Patrick @es3tag Hansen from Astralis to @Cloud9.

The former caster has taken the initiative to make public the contract details of its players. The announcements started with ALEX and Cloud9 already has a five-man roster with Es3tag.
Cloud9 is offering me is something I needed to consider seriously. I love the ideas behind the project, and I believe it will be a team to consider in the top of CS for the years to come. While I am sad to leave Astralis and all the people here, I look forward to the challenge in Cloud9. – Es3tag.
Es3tag’s transfer to Cloud9 comes as part of a $2.1 million deal.
Here are the deal values for each member of the Cloud9 CS:GO roster over three years. The deal values include buyout prices and the player’s salary.

What Does This Mean for the Astralis Roster?
Astralis has signed several players to its CS:GO oyster over the past few months. Glaive and Xyp9x took a break and the new additions have already proven themselves catapulting Astralis back to the number 1 rank. Es3tag averaged 1.12 during his time on Astralis despite being out of action for three months before joining the team.
Astralis announced Es3tag’s addition in March although the player joined the team only in July. Astralis was one of the first teams this year to expand its CS:GO roster beyond just five players. The team would then add Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen to the roster.
Just to clarify I’ve been offered the same solution, I could also have get transferred (if I found something interesting). There’s been no real difference of the treatment es3 and I have received. This was a unique and strong opportunity for him, so he wanted to pursue it. – Bubzkji on twitter.
Astralis still has a six-man roster and can use Bubzkji when needed. However, with the return of Glaive and Xyp9x to the active roster, there will be limited opportunities available to the 22-year-old player.
The Cloud9 CS:GO team will make its debut at the Nine to Five #5 tournament that kicks off on October 19.
