beastcoast and Evil Geniuses cruised through the DPC 2022-23 Tour 1 regional league to compete in front of their home crowd at the Lima Major.

The 2023 DPC Winter Tour is set to witness the first-ever Dota 2 Major held in South America. Lima, Peru’s capital city, will host the Major at Arena 1 between February 22 – March 5.

No other teams and fans are more excited than those in South America. Nine out of ten players from beastcoast and Evil Geniuses hail from Peru. They will be competing for a Major trophy on their home field for the first time.

Despite the change in the lineup due to the Post TI shuffle, beastcoast is still looking like SA’s sweethearts sitting in the first position, along with three of the TI11 Thunder Awaken players and two from beastcoast who are now competing under the Evil Geniuses banner.

Both teams cruised through the league play with 6:0 series records so far.

They will face off against each other in the last series of the season, for funsies.

So far, nine out of 18 slots for the Lima Major have been claimed. Team Liquid is, for now, the only team to have secured its presence from Western Europe, Team Aster from China, Execration from SEA, Shopify Rebellion, and TSM claimed the NA tickets.  BetBoom Team and Team Spirit have qualified from Eastern Europe.

During this Tour, the Chinese teams started the league play about a week earlier than the rest of the regions. They will also be the last region to end the league season due to a 10-day break, between January 17-31, to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
