Best iPhone Game Updates: ‘Zen Pinball Party’, ‘Golf Blitz’, ‘Hearthstone’, ‘Subway Surfers’, and More

Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. A bit of a quiet one this week, but even a quiet week is decidedly less than quiet in the world of the App Store. I’ve gathered up a bunch of updates for you to mull over as you get your week going. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!

Zen Pinball Party, Here’s a pleasant blast from the past. Biolab, an original table that debuted in Pinball FX 2 back in 2010, is now available in the Zen Pinball Party line-up. A bit of a spooky table, but it has a lot of interesting elements to it. This update also adds a new co-op mode, plus some bug fixes and other improvements. A new table, a new mode, and some fixes? Yeah, that’s about all I need in an update for this game. I don’t see anything else today that is catching my eye, so I guess I’ll give this the coveted UMMSotW award.

Super Stickman Golf 3, Free Sometimes with these Apple Arcade + versions, the updates are shared with the non-Apple Arcade version. Sometimes they aren’t. This is one of the latter type. It’s actually a cool crossover of sorts with Noodlecake’s Golf Blitz. There are five new courses, five new golfers, six new hats, and unlimited Blitz. Golf plus golf equals… golf. But it’s good golf, I promise. Cool stuff.

Golf Blitz, Free Sure, let’s check in on Golf Blitz too. Let’s make this a big Noodlecake party. We love all of the noodles, and all of the cakes. So over here on this game, we do not have a crossover. Instead, we have a new power-up. It is the Blizzard Ball, and it lets you freeze your opponents and land on water hazards without fear. Can’t go sploosh if the splooshy stuff is solid, after all. There’s a new challenge coming up called Focus Aim, and a new feature that allows you to quickly pop in and spectate high-ranked matches.

Hearthstone, Free Mm, some neat things have come to Hearthstone in this new version of the game. There are two big components here. First is the Onyxia’s Lair mini-set, which contains 35 new cards. You can buy it with in-game Gold, and a special all-Golden version of the set is available in the shop as well. The other big thing here is the Chi-Ji Mercenaries event, the first of its type. It features the August Celestial Chi-Ji, and it should be starting soon if it isn’t already going on as you read this.

Zookeeper World, Another update for good ol’ Zookeeper World. I haven’t been playing this one as much lately as I redownloaded Tiny Tower and started a new building. That’s how it goes sometimes. Still, this update brings in 25 new stages, some UI improvements, a new minigame called Endless Puzzle, and another zoo expansion for those who reach rank 22. That’s good, because I am all out of zoo space.

Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, Free It’s been a few months since the last major content update for Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, but finally a new character has appeared. Connor Kenway, also known as Ratonhnhake:ton, joins the game in the latest version. I know Assassin’s Creed III isn’t everyone’s favorite game, but having to follow up Ezio was never going to be easy for anyone. I think we can at least agree that Connor is pretty cool, even if you don’t care for his game. Anyway, here he is. Enjoy!

Subway Surfers, Free You know, I’m kind of surprised that this game didn’t do a more overt tie-in with the Olympic Games. Well, it’s done now. And the Subway Surfers are on their way to their next venue, which is good ol’ Barcelona. The messy new Surfer Charlie is here, and he could use a good hosing off as he appears to be covered in paint. I think he’s a street artist? The new Astronave board has an oddly familiar look to it, and Roberto gets some new duds in the form of his Cules outfit. You know how it goes, friends: collect those tokens and try to get some rewards.

CSR 2 Drag Racing Car Games, Free CSR Racing 2 or, as it seems to be known now, CSR 2 Drag Racing Car Games has another big Fast & the Furious event going on. Fast & Furious 9: The Fast Saga is a limited event where you can get more of the iconic vehicles from the newest chapter in the series. The Pontiac Fiero, Jeep Gladiator, Dodge Charge R/T HEMI, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Ford ‘Fox Body’ Mustang, and Chevrolet Monte Carlo make the scene along with a Lunar New Year event. All this and more are waiting for you the next time you fire up CSR 2 Drag Racing Car Games!

Toon Blast, Free And now it is time for the regularly scheduled obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle update. As I am short on time and energy, I have picked Toon Blast. I know, always with the Toon Blast. What can I say? It updates regularly, so it’s pretty reliable. At any rate, it’s fifty new levels. The theme is Galaxy Mission, which is the second out-of-place space thing in this week’s round-up. I must be missing an anniversary or something. I’ve done a cursory look around, and can’t find anything. Well, that’s all I’m willing to put into it.

World of Tanks Blitz – 3D War, Free Blitz Masters! If you say something with an exclamation point, it gets a lot more exciting. This is apparently an event where you choose a side among four blogger teams and battle to earn prizes. Along with the new event comes a new map, Molendijk. A rather lovely Dutch town with plenty of flowers around. Try not to crush them under your treads, the metaphor might be too much. There are apparently two modes to play, one an exciting Burning Games and a quicker-paced Skirmish. Seems like plenty going on in this game at the moment, so feel free to duck your head in and see what’s up.

That about wraps it up for last week’s significant updates. I’m sure I’ve missed some, though, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely get their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to summarize and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
