Boston U Terriers Betting Trends

The Terriers come into the second game of a road trip off an impressive 79-53 win at American. Graduate student forward Sukhmail Mathon (19 points, 10 rebounds) and senior guard/forward Walter Whyte (17 points, 10 rebounds) each provided double-doubles to aid the Terriers’ cause.

Graduate student guard Javante McCoy scored 25 points in Monday’s win. He leads Boston U in scoring with a career-high 17.2 points per game. McCoy tops all Terriers players in assists (43) and steals (18). Mathon (14.4 ppg), and Whyte (12.9 ppg) are also averaging double figures in scoring.

Mathon currently ranks 15th nationally in double-doubles (seven) and 21st in rebounds (9.7 rpg). He also ranks sixth in made free throws (80) thanks to a 78.4 free-throw shooting percentage. As well, he leads the team in blocks with 12.

The preseason favorites to win the Patriot League, BU is off to a 2-2 start.

Army Black Knights Betting Trends

After three conference wins, Army fell 76-57 at defending Patriot League champions Colgate in the last game action for the Black Knights. Sophomore guard Josh Caldwell paced the Army offense with 16 points. It was the sixth time in seven games he’s delivered double digits in points.

The setback halted a three-game winning streak by the Cadets. Freshman forward Chris Mann added a season-high 13 points, while sophomore guard Aaron Duhart dished out a career-high seven assists.  Army has won its last three home games. At 6-1, the Cadets show the second-best home mark in the Patriot League. The 3-1 Black Knights are off to their best conference start in eight seasons.

Sophomore guard Jalen Rucker, the current Patriot League player of the week, leads Army in scoring with 15.5 ppg. He’s also averaging 7.5 3-point attempts per game. Sophomore guard Josh Caldwell is next at 12.9 ppg and has combined with Rucker for 9.3 rpg. Sophomore forward Charlie Peterson leads Army with 6.5 rebounds per game.

Rucker is fifth in the conference in scoring with 15.5 ppg. He has five 20-point games, which are third-most in the league. Three of those five have come in league play. That’s tied for the most. Duhart is second in the Patriot League in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.6).

Black Knights vs Terriers Prediction

Boston U owns a 20-14 edge in the all-time series with Army. The Black Knights won three of four meetings between the two schools last season. Boston has won 11 of 19 Patriot League meetings.

The Terriers are ranked 69th nationally in rebound margin with a +4.9 rebounds per game rating. The Black Knights are averaging 72.3 ppg and shooting at a 43.9 field goal percentage while holding opponents to 70.2 ppg and 42.7 field goal percentage. Army ranks 57th nationally in steals at 8.2 per game.

Army ranks first among Patriot League teams in steals per game, rebounds per game (39.1), offensive (11.6) and defensive rebounds per game (27.5), and turnovers forced (14.4). The Black Knights are second in the conference in points per game.

Army and Boston U share three common non-conference opponents. Army went 3-0 posting wins against Merrimack (74-51), Marist (65-61) and Hartford  (86-79). BU topped Hartford (75-70), Merrimack (61-60) but lost 84-79 to Marist in overtime.
