Burnley vs Watford Match Analysis and Prediction

Two sides in the relegation zone will battle for their lives in an important Premier League fixture at Turf Moor on Saturday night, as Burnley host Watford with kickoff at 21:00.

Both sides have made poor campaigns in the Premier League this season with Burnley claiming just one win in their 18 matches, picking up nine draws while suffering nine defeats in the process and they currently sit at the foot of the table with 12 points on board four adrift of safety. However, the hosts have played at least two matches less than every other Premier League side.

Sean Dyche’s side head into the match in a poor form having won none of their last nine matches across all competitions picking up five draws and four defeats in the run, however, Burnley will be confident heading into the match as they are coming off an impressive 0-0 draw away at Arsenal.

Dyche and co will see this match as one where three points are crucial if they are to pull off the great escape. They will continue to life without important attacker Chris Wood, who joined Newcastle United in the January transfer window, but new signing Wout Weghorst is expected to make his Premier League debut.

Meanwhile, Watford displayed blimps of improvement at the start of life under Claudio Ranieri. However, a run of one win in their last 12 matches across competitions and 3-0 defeat to Norwich in their last Premier League fixture saw Ranieri become the latest victim of the trigger-happy Hornets hierarchy, who swiftly replaced him with Roy Hodgson.

Hodgson perhaps now faces his biggest challenge to date in steering the Hertfordshire side to safety and he will want to start here on a positive note.
