What if there’s a city builder game where the people living there are not people but cats? That’s what developer Bad Optic’s settlement builder game Catizens is, basically.

The PC indie game published by HeroCraft PC is set to launch on Steam Early Access, with three of a total of six planned levels plus a sandbox mode.

In Catizens, each of your cat citizens is finicky in their own way thanks to everyone having different personalities and can form relationships with each other. You’ll also have to fulfil personal requests as a result of this.

As a settlement builder, expect to see the cutesy feline furballs doing jobs like fishing, farming, blacksmithing and even being a knight. Everyone has to play their part as a law-abiding catizen. The cats and their respective homes can be customised to your heart’s content as well. So you can recreate your own pets if you want.

Catizens launches into Steam Early Access on August 17.
