CDL Major IV: Subliners On Top As Final Bounty Week Approaches

Last week, we questioned whether the New York Subliners were about to enter a dominating streak. This weekend, our question was answered, as NYSL refused to quit, pulling out a top record in back-to-back fixtures against Seattle Surge and OpTic Texas. With a bolt of defiance, the Subliners proved that they were still contenders for COD Champs and that they were making the most of their final chance to make the cut ahead of the final Major IV Bounty Week.

At present, the New York Subliners sit firmly in first place on the Major IV Qualifiers standings. While there is one key fixture left against the LA Thieves, the Subliners have managed to defeat Florida, LAG, OpTic, and Seattle in their push to break out of the ‘relegation zone’. If the boys in yellow can keep this up, they may make for a dangerous and impactful squad at the Major IV tournament.

Texas Tumbling Down

If OpTic Texas is going to secure its first-ever Call of Duty League Champs trophy, there’s a lot of work to be done at this stage. In the Major IV qualifiers, OpTic currently sits at a 0 – 3 record, having been handed crushing losses at the hands of Minnesota Rokkr, Boston Breach, and the Subliners in the last few weeks. In fact, the only team that OpTic managed to claw a victory over was Paris Legion, currently the bottom-most team in the CDL standings.

If you’re a Call of Duty League betting fan and you’re backing OpTic, it isn’t looking good in the run-up to Major IV. Following their victory over OpTic Texas, the Subliners’ Crimsix had some choice words to share regarding the team:

Elsewhere in the League, Atlanta FaZe, boasting a roster made up of the best COD players in the world right now, lost out against LAG. It was the first match that the ATL squad failed to win since Seattle Surge dealt them a crushing blow by knocking them out at the final stage of the Major III tournament, but it’s unlikely to impact the team heading into Major IV.

After all, Atlanta FaZe remains at the top of the table and the odds-on favourite to win the entire League this year.

Final Bounty Week Approaches

For the closing week of the Major IV qualifiers, the last Bounty Matches are set to take place. These will be the final matches of their kind of the 2022 season, with set fixtures boasting an extra $10k prize for the winning team. As we move into Bounty Week, here’s the breakdown of fixtures along with our predictions of how they’ll pan out:

  • Paris Legion vs. (w) Minnesota Rokkr – July 9th
  • Seattle Surge (w) vs. Atlanta FaZe – July 10th
  • Los Angeles Guerrillas (w) vs. London Royal Ravens – July 10th
  • OpTic Texas vs. (w) Toronto Ultra – July 10th

If you’re a keen Call of Duty betting fan, be sure to keep a close eye on every match this week. With these being the final fixtures ahead of Major IV, it’s the last chance for teams to attain an advantageous seeding. Then, as we all know, Major IV opens the doors to the 2022 COD Champs tournament.
