A berth in the Champions League semifinals is on the line as Europe’s most prized competition proceeds on Tuesday and Wednesday. Bayern head back to Munich looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Europa holders Villarreal, who put together a fine performance in the first leg. In the Spanish capital, Real Madrid is up 3-1 on aggregate vs Chelsea, who face an uphill battle away from home.
Elsewhere, Manchester City will be looking to put away Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid after defeating them by a goal last week. Lastly, Liverpool head to Anfield to hopefully finish off Benfica.

Benzema Continues Torrid Form
Karim Benzema was the star of the show in the first leg against Chelsea, bagging a hat-trick and essentially putting one foot in the UCL semifinals for Madrid.
The Frenchman has been absolutely clinical this term but across the last month, he’s scoring goals at a ridiculous rate. Benzema has netted 13 times in his previous eight games for Los Blancos and also scored three goals in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg vs PSG.
Chelsea’s backline is looking a lot more vulnerable lately. To be honest, even if they put in a terrific shift, it’s still going to be hard to stop Benzema, who is easily the most clinical striker on the planet at the moment. There’s massive value in him scoring at any time throughout the 90 minutes in the Real Madrid vs Chelsea odds and continuing his top form.
- Pick: Karim Benzema to Score (+118)
Lewandowski Goalscorer Odds
It’s a rarity when Robert Lewandowski doesn’t find the back of the net for Bayern. After all, the Pole already has 44 goals to his name across all competitions after scoring at the weekend against Augsburg. That broke a two-game cold spell for Lewa, who leads the Champions League with 12 goals. He was extremely quiet in the return leg in Villarreal, registering a mere one shot on target. Frankly, the Munich attack looked lifeless, but that won’t be the case on Tuesday.
Robert Lewandowski 🇵🇱 is the first player with 60 G/A for Club and Country this season.

Bayern’s entire system in the final third is centered around Lewandowski. He is always the focal point and in front of the home fans, I’m convinced he’ll be the main catalyst in turning this tie around and sending his side through to the semis. If you need more evidence, he’s scored in all but one UCL home game in 2021/22. The odds Bayern Munich vs Villarreal odds might not offer a ton of value, but it’s highly unlikely he doesn’t bury one here. If -250 is too short, you could also choose him as a first goalscorer in the match for better odds.
- Pick: Robert Lewandowski to Score (-250)
Havertz Creates Some Havoc
The Chelsea frontline is looking much different these days. Romelu Lukaku has fallen out of favor under Thomas Tuchel, with Kai Havertz essentially operating as the club’s No. 9 right now, although he’s not exactly a natural central striker. Nonetheless, the young German is doing a phenomenal job. He scored the Blues’ lone goal in the first leg against Madrid and created a ton of chances.
Kai Havertz appreciation tweet.

The focus here though will be shots on goal. He’s notched over 0.5 in nine straight appearances for club and country. Havertz is always getting the ball either at his feet or on his head and he’ll be set to lead the line again on Tuesday. At -225 odds it’s a bit steep, but there is zero doubt in my mind he’ll register at least one opportunity on Thibaut Courtois’ goal. He’s registered at least one shot on target in each of his last five EPL matches, for a total of ten. In leg 1 against Madrid last week he had six attempts, putting two on target.
- Pick: Kai Havertz Over 0.5 Shots on goal (-225)
