China’s new generation is coming to Lima Major

All four teams qualified for the Lima Major via China regional league have been decided and there are plenty of new names looking to make their Major debut later this month in Peru.

PSG.LGD are fighting their way to TI12 with three newcomers this year, but that didn’t stop them from topping Division I in the Chinese region. They head to the Lima Major as the top seed after winning a riveting BO3 tiebreaker series against Team Aster. If you missed all or most of the action in the Chinese regional league, then this tiebreaker is a must watch, especially since both teams will be playing at the first Major of the year in about three weeks.

They will be joined by Knights, a brand new Chinese team, but with familiar faces on the roster. Knights formed at the beginning of this DPC season and despite having no competitive history, they got to play in Division I by acquiring Royal Never Give Up’s spot. Their DPC debut is stained by cheating allegations that, reportedly, have been sent to Valve for reviewing, but no verdict came back from the Dota 2 developer.

EHOME is the fourth and final Chinese team heading to the Lima Major. Much like PSG.LGD, the veteran organization has now an injection of newcomers, with four out of their five players having no experience outside of domestic and Asian competitions.

With the Winter Tour Division I coming to a close in all six regions, the next pit-stop in the long road to The International 2023 is Lima Major. The event is expected to take place at Arena 1 from Peru’s capital city from February 22 to March 5, with a total of 18 teams fighting for a shot at the title and a share of the $500,000 prize pool and 1,900 DPC points.
