Code Season 3 (2022) – RO20 groups announced

AfreecaTV have announced the round-of-20 groups for Code S Season 3, which will begin on Sunday, Aug 21 3:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00). As usual, the groups were seeded based on GSL points, an internal system that takes only GSL results into account. As a result, international players Astrea and Reynor received low seeding.

I’ve always found GSL’s logic of “1 championship is worth just SLIGHTLY more than 2 runner-ups” to be quite amusing. It’s like they bluntly applied narrative logic while completely disregarding how real StarCraft is full of insane variance and luck between closely matched players.

No it’s points from past GSL performance lol.

I feel like Maru will bomb out of his group.

It’s shame that the GSL create the groups how they please and dosen’t have some kind of seeding mechanisms
