Core Keeper Beginner’s Guide: Tips And Tricks To Get Started

Core Keeper has got a lot of attention even though it is in early access on PC. While this is a fun game to play with friends, if you are new to the genre then you might not know what is going on. In this Core Keeper beginner’s guide, we are going to give you some tips and tricks that will help you get started.

Core Keeper Tips And Tricks

The following are some tips and tricks that should help you get started in Core Keeper:

Do Not Worry About Character Creation

While the game is flexible when it comes to character creation and you can pick the background and perks of your character, you should not worry about it too much. It is not going to matter after the first hour or so.

There are some good bonuses that you can get but there is no class that has a major advantage over the others. So do not think about it too much.

Get A Pickaxe

Once you start the game, you will need a pickaxe. You can hit the roots in the starting area in order to craft the wooden pickaxe. This is not going to last very long but it is going to help you get started.

Use Your Skill Points

You will gain XP for activities such as running, crafting, and mining. Once you have enough XP, you will be able to invest a skill point and get different perks.

You can use these to increase your efficiencies, such as increasing mining speed or decreasing energy consumed when running. Be sure to spend these in order to make the game much easier for you.

Mine Shiny Sections

In areas that you have not explored, you should look out for anything shiny. Mining these is going to reward you with ore that you can use to get better gear.

Stock Up Torches

As you explore, you will soon find that you can often head into complete darkness. That is why we recommend keeping some torches on hand so that you can see where you are headed and what you are doing.

You should also clear out areas properly so light can get into dimly lit corners. Glow tulips and fireflies can help light the path as well.

Making A Crafting Bench Will Unlock Advanced Equipment

While you can craft items from your inventory, this equipment is not going to get you far. You will need to craft a crafting bench in order to gain access to advanced equipment. You can craft even better benches but these require hard to get materials.

Resting Fills Up Your HP

Once you have enough fiber, you can make a bed. Sleeping will recover your health allowing you to save up on food items. You can also make smaller bases outside of your main one with beds of their own.

Slimes Can Kill You

While a single slime might not look like much of a threat, multiple slimes can gang up on you and even kill you. These enemies can do a lot of damage.

You will drop resources that you gathered and will need to retrieve them. So do not rush into combat unless you are confident that you are ready.

These are some tips and tricks that you should keep in mind when playing Core Keeper.
