The 2022 NBA Draft will be an important event for teams to build for their future. Here is the Dalen Terry 2022 NBA Draft Profile.

Terry spent two years playing college basketball and improved each season. Now he is a part of the 2022 NBA Draft class.

As a four-star high school prospect out of Arizona, Terry decided to stay in-state and play for the Wildcats. He started about half of Arizona’s games when he was a freshman, averaging 4.6 points and 3.2 rebounds. Terry showed his development as a sophomore, as he averaged 8.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. His play helped the Wildcats reach the Sweet Sixteen in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

Following his sophomore season, Terry decided to go pro. He is currently projected to be a late first-round pick or early second-round pick.

Dalen Terry Strengths

Terry learned how to set up his teammates extremely well during his sophomore season. He averaged 3.9 assists per game and showed good floor vision. Terry can find teammates in transition to ensure his team gets a basket. In the halfcourt, he can operate the pick and roll. He also is adept at finding cutting teammates.

His on-ball defense is truly unique. He averaged 1.2 steals per game. Terry has decent footspeed to stay in front, but his wingspan, which is over 7-feet, really helps him be disruptive. His length can bother opponents’ shots, but he also comes up with a lot of steals because of his long arms and anticipation.

He has the ability to get to the basket in transition and in the halfcourt offense. Once he gets to the rim he finishes well. He has the ability to finish over smaller players with dunks or layups. Occasionally, he is able to finish over or around bigger defenders. Terry is a threat on cuts to the basket too, where his finishing helps him complete the play.

Dalen Terry Weaknesses

Most draft prospects have shown better scoring ability than Terry. He averaged 8.0 points per game at Arizona as a sophomore. Terry can be more aggressive on the offensive end, as he has the talent to get to the basket more often. He also can work on his catch and shoot 3-point shots to be more efficient as a shooter from deep.

He will need to add strength to be hold up at the next level. Terry weighs in at under 200 pounds, which makes him very lightweight for a player who is 6-foot-7. He can get overpowered by players who are even shorter than him. This should help him finish even better and defend in the post if he is asked to switch.

His shooting is inconsistent whether that is from 3-point range or closer. He needs to be more consistent to be relied on to spread the floor and to score more. As things currently sit, Terry can be a good defender and player in transition, but may be a liability on the offensive end of the floor if he doesn’t have the ball in his hands to create for others.

Projected Draft Range: Late First Round Pick-Early Second Round Pick
