Death Stranding 2 Seemingly Won’t Bring Back Heartman

Death Stranding 2 was recently announced with a new trailer at The Game Awards 2022, confirming that a number of characters from the original game’s core cast will be returning in the sequel. Newcomers Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna will be joining the cast, while the likes of Norman Reedus, Lea Seydox, and Troy Baker will be reprising their roles as well. At least one character from the original game, however, seemingly won’t be back for the sequel.

Heartman was a secondary character in Death Stranding, and while his character model was based on Danish film director Nicolas Winding Refn’s likeness, the character was voiced by Darren Jacobs- and according to Jacobs, Heartman will not be back in Death Stranding 2. As reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, Jacobs recently revealed to fans on Twitter that as of now, he has no part to play in the sequel.

Interestingly, he has since deleted those tweets, so there’s a chance that the character’s involvement in Death Stranding 2 isn’t something that’s set in stone yet. Either way, for now, it seems like Jacobs hasn’t been contacted by Kojima Productions about the same.

Recently, Kojima Productions announced that a Death Stranding movie is also in the works- read more on that through here.
