Deliver Us The Moon PS5 & Xbox Series X|S upgrade delayed to June

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S upgrade for Deliver Us The Moon has had a last minute delay. Previously expected for release on 19th May, it will now come out for PS5 and Series X|S on 23rd June 2022.

Explaining the delay, publisher Wired Productions and developer KeokeN said that “The astronomical project requires additional development time to prepare the definitive version of the game, allowing for a final polish before we prepare for lift off. The title also sees a physical launch on PlayStation 5, available directly via the Wired store in addition to partners globally.”

The new graphical effects will add ray-traced shadows, reflections and audio into the mix, tapping into the capabilities of Unreal Engine 4 and bringing over some of what is already available in the PC version of the game. The PS5 version will also make use of the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and the built-in loudspeaker for audio effects. It will be a free upgrade from the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game to the new generation.

Deliver Us The Moon is an almost-apocalypse game, in which you play Earth’s last astronaut on a do-or-die mission to reestablish the connection with a lunar colony and the vital supply of energy that it provides an Earth where natural resources have been depleted.

The game launched for PC in late 2019, and then came to PS4 and Xbox One in April 2020. We reviewed the console release of the game, with Tom saying in our Deliver Us The Moon review:

In partnership with new publisher Frontier Foundry, KeokeN has announced Deliver Us Mars, a sequel adventure that will head to our planetary neighbour. KeokeN has said that this game will stand on its own – it’s set quite some time after the Fortuna mission – but that you’ll obviously get a bit more from the game if you’ve played Deliver Us The Moon.
