Dota 2: DPC Western Europe Tour 1 — Predictions

Let’s take a look at our predictions for the upcoming DPC and one of the most interesting regions — Western Europe.

Western Europe has always been home to some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world. Although the region was unable to live up to the expectations during TI 10, Team Secret did fairly well. Sadly, we can’t say the same for the other EU powerhouses, such as OG and Alliance.

Following the biggest esports event of the year, the EU region was shattered by loads of roster changes. Some of our favorite teams have completely new rosters now, so let’s check which teams we think will come out on top in Tour1 of the 2021-22 DPC.

Division I Power Ranking

Division I is definitely going to be more interesting to watch than the first one because our favorite teams are a part of it. With that being said, here is what we think will happen:

8.  Team Tickles

The last spot on our list is for Team Tickles, because they’re yet to prove what they’re capable of. The other teams in Division I have been around for many years, so it will be interesting to see whether TT have what it takes to play against the best.

7.  Tundra Esports

Although many people consider TE to be a “tier 2” EU team, Adrian “Fata” Trinks and his teammates can definitely put up a challenge. They were unable to succeed in the last DPS, but this time, they may utilize their full potential.

6. COOLGUYS

The second team that comes from the lower division is called COOLGUYS. Although the team doesn’t seem impressive at first, once you check their roster, you will see they have potential.

5. OG

Some of you may be surprised b the fact that OG is here, but it is important to remember that the team completely changed its roster. We are yet to see whether the 16-year-old wunderkind from Bulgaria Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov will live up to people’s expectations.

4. Alliance

Alliance is another European powerhouse that decided to make several changes for the upcoming DPC. After failing to achieve much during TI 10, Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov and his teammates will try to prove once again that they deserve to be among the best.

3. Team Liquid

After the addition of Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen and Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg, Team Liquid looks a lot more dangerous. They definitely have everything they need to shine, so it is just a matter of time before they show their prowess.

2. Nigma Galaxy

Although Ivan Borislavov “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov and the others from his team missed TI 10, they will always be one of the best teams in the world. Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi is definitely ready to prove once again why people think he is the best in the world.

1.Team Secret

Of course, the first spot on our list goes for the team that finished third at TI 10. Although MATU and Zai are no longer a part of TS, Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang should be able to make up for them.

Division II Power Ranking

After checking out the competition in Division I, it’s time to do the same thing for the second one. People often think that these teams are not as interesting to watch as the ones mentioned above. Although this might be true up to a point, we’ve seen many interesting clashes that make Division II interesting to follow.

8. Chicken Fighters

Chicken Fights is one of the two teams that earned a place in Division II after going through the Closed Qualifiers. The team consists of players from Sweden, Finland, and Serbia. Duško “BoraNija” Boranijaševic is definitely the player that others have to look out for.

7. CHILLAX

The second team from the closed quals that will compete against some of the best in Europe is called Chillax. The team consists of players, such as Verros “Maybe Next Time” Apostolos and Stoyan “lil pleb” Kostov, so it will be interesting to see whether they have what it takes to win.

6. Into The Breach

ITB is one of the recognizable names in the EU Dota scene, but it is yet to show its prowess. Led by the experience Serbian superstar Nikola “LeBronDota” Popović, the team will try to win against its counterparts.

5. Ghost Frogs

Ghost Frogs is a team that has a lot of potential because it has players, such as Ivaylo “Mastermind” Petkov, one of the more-popular mid lanes. Sadly, they were unable to get into the “big league” last time, so it will be interesting to see if they can do that today.

4. No Bounty Hunter

No BH is probably the most popular Tier 2 team in Europe for several years now. Like the others on this list, Ionut Radu “BliNcc” Musat will try yet again to earn the chance of competing against the best teams in Western Europe.

3. Team Bald Reborn

TBR is a team that consists of several intriguing players, such as Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski. Gorgc used to be a part of OG as a part of the streaming team, but he decided to start competing again. This time, he teamed up with several other promising players.

2. Brame

Brame doesn’t seem that good on paper, but last year, the team proved its critics wrong. No wonder many consider them to be one of the heavy favorites to win Division II.

1. Creepwave

The first place goes to Remco “Crystallis” Arets and his team, Creepwave. The roster consists of several talented players that have been around for many years.
