It’s safe to say that The New Frontiers Update in Dota 2 is the biggest change since the introduction of the game. We have tons of new things to keep an eye on. In fact, we’ve already covered the matchmaking updates, so make sure to go through them before you start playing.

With that said, this article will focus on the new items. That’s right, besides the numerous hero changes, The New Frontiers Update in Dota 2 also gives us access to the new items. There is a lot to cover, so let’s dive in and learn more about the Dota 2 patch notes 7.33.

New Items

When it comes to the new items in this Dota 2 patch, The New Frontiers Update includes several options. Let’s go over 1 by 1 and see what we can expect.

  • Blood Grenade

The first item is called Blood Grenade, it costs 65 gold and gives +50 HP. When used, it allows you to throw a grenade that will deal 50 damage to enemies on impact. Furthermore, your enemies will be slown by -15% and take 15 DPS every 1 second for 5s in total. This item has 300 radius and 10s cooldown.

Diadem is an interesting item that’s available for 1000 gold. Once you get it, you will get +6 for all attributes.

  • Cornucopia

Following the Dota 2 Patch Notes 7.33, we found a new item that costs 1200 gold. Cornucopia gives + 5 HP regen, +2 mana regen and +7 damage.

The next item on the list in The New Frontiers Update is Pavise and it costs 1400 gold. When you get it, it will grant you +3 armor, +2.5 mana regeneration, and +175 HP. This item is also active and when you cast it on an ally, you can give then a barrier that absorbs 300 physical damage. This item has 1000 range, 18s cooldown, it costs 75 mana and the barrier’s effect lasts for 8s.

  • Phylactery

This item gives +200 mana and HP and +7 to all attributes at the cost of 2400 gold. Furthermore, it has a passive ability called Empowered Spell with a 6s cooldown. The latter allows you next Unit Target spell to deal an additional 125 damage and to slow your opponent for 50% for 1.2s.

One of the most interesting new items in the Dota 2 patch 7.33 is Harpoon. This thing grants +15 attack speed, +15 damage, +20 STR, +20 Agi, +16 INT and +2 Mana Regen.

In addition, it offers an active ability called Draw Forth, which allows you to fire a harpoon at an enemy, and pull yourself and the target closer to each other (up to 35% of the distance). This ability has a 19s cooldown and doesn’t cost any mana.

Harpoon also has a massive ability called Echo Strike, allowing your melee attacks to attack twice quickly. The second attack will slow down the enemy’s movement speed by 100% for 1s.

Finally, we have the most expensive new item in The New Frontiers Dota 2 update. It costs 5700 gold and gives +45 damage, +10 Int and +20 AGI. The active ability is called Suppress and it costs 75 mana and has a 15s cooldown. When used at n enemy, you will slow it down for 4s (starting at 100% and going to 0%). However, you can also target an ally, which will increase their movement speed by 100%.

This item also has another passive ability called Manbreak. As its name suggests, each attack will burn 40 mana from a target and deal 1 physical damage for every mana burned.

New Neutral Items

If we take a close look at the Dota 2 patch Notes 7.33, we can see that Valve also decided to give us access to new Neutral Items. There are 7 options to choose from following The New Frontiers Update, so let’s go through each one.

  • Duelist Gloves – Tier 1

This item grants +10 damage and 15 attack speed to the hero, as long as there are enemies within 900 range.

  • Spark of Courage – Tier 1

This item gives 10 damage when the hero is above 50% HP and 5 armor if he drops below that.

  • Gossamer Cape – Tier 2

Once you start playing on the new Dota 2 patch 7.33, you can get this item that will give you +20 Movement Speed. Furthermore, it has a passive ability called Sixth Sense that allows you to dodge an attack from an enemy hero.

  • Defiant Shell – Tier 3

This neutral item grants +5 armor and +7 to all attributes. Furthermore, it has a passive ability called Reciprocity, which allows you to counter-attack a target that attacks you. This effect has a 5s cooldown.

  • Vindicator’s Ace  – Tier 3

If you get this item, you will get 25 bonus attack speed. If you get silenced, the item will grant you 30 damage and if you get stunned, you will receive 15 armor.

  • Dandelion Amulet – Tier 3

This Neutral Item from the Dota 2 patch 7.33 gives 25 movement speed and 300 mana. Furthermore, it has a passive effect on a 12s cooldown that blocks up to 300 magical damage when someone deals over 75 damage.

  • Martyr’s Plate – Tier 4

Finally, we have the only new Tier 4 neutral item from The New Frontiers Update. It will give you 20 magic resistance and an ability called Martyrdom. The latter has a 40s cooldown, and it redirects 20% of the damage your allies take to you for 8s.
