Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is your next Dragon Age game

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is the official name of the next Dragon Age game, BioWare has confirmed. A few details have been confirmed for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, including the identity of the titular character. If you have played Dragon Age Inquisition then the name Solas will ring a bell. An elven mage outlaw that was a member of your party, Solas is now the antagonist known as the Dread Wolf.

Dragon Age Dreadwolf takes place in a world where the legend of Solas has grown, with different people having different opinions of him. To some he is an elven god while to others an individual that betrayed people who trusted him. Some see him as someone who is there to save others, but at a great cost. Players will have to wait as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will not be releasing this year. It was confirmed earlier this year that this next entry to the franchise was looking like it would be available in 2023.

The new Dragon Age was first publicly acknowledged in 2020, as EA were foreshadowing their next-gen plans for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S – Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is reportedly a PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC game, that ditches support for the last generation. It was then at the 2020 The Game Awards that we got our first teaser for the game, featuring familiar heroes that revealed this to be a direct follow-up to 2014’s Dragon Age Inquisition.

Dragon Age 4 has a new hero, but what does this mean for The Inquisitor?

Hopefully, there is not too much longer to wait for more details for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, including some gameplay footage and a release date. With Solas confirmed as the main antagonist the new game is set up to really push that stakes higher than before, with a clash between former allies on the horizon.
