This Dying Light 2 Stay Human Skills guide is here for those looking to figure out how to maximize the development of their characters as soon as possible.

While parkour and hand-to-hand zombie-killing sound like fairly simple concepts, Dying Light 2 is much more nuanced than that with level-recommended areas, upgradeable stats and categorically-diverse gear. As such, here’s a breakdown of the Skills system in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

Aside from weapons, clothing and stamina/health stats, a key part of improving your character in Dying Light 2 revolves around the game’s two Skill trees — Combat and Parkour.

The Combat skill tree gives you new or improved ways to deal damage. A good example of this is the Air Kick, which allows you to drop onto an unsuspecting enemy from above with an airborne jump kick.

On the other hand, the Parkour skill tree gives you new or improved ways to move around. An essential Parkour Skill to have is Firm Grip, which allows you to make the last climb on ledges even when your stamina is gone and briefly maintain your grip when you land on ledges from great heights.

You can earn XP toward these skill trees by doing activities naturally associated with them. Killing zombies earns Combat XP and jumping across rooftops earns Parkour XP.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human is available now for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store and Techland Store).
