Dying Light 3 Might Make Players More Powerful From the Get-Go

Despite its development troubles and numerous delays, Dying Light 2: Stay Human has been a smash success for Techland so it wouldn’t surprise anyone if the developer has plans for a third installment. While nothing has been announced, it looks like the studio is internally considering ideas for Dying Light 3 and has already thought about things it would like to improve in the next game. In an interview with Video Games Chronicle, Dying Light 2 lead game designer Tymon Smektala said that he wants to make the player more powerful from the get-go in the third game, if it ever happens.

Why Dying Light 3 will make the player more powerful

Dying Light 2 New Game Plus

Smektala thinks that the first two games had the same approach in that the protagonist started off quite weak. This is something he wants to “fix” in the third game so that players have more skills and more abilities to play around with. He said:

One thing is that if we’re making Dying Light 3, then I would like the main character to start with bigger and better starting abilities and skills. We have used basically the same approach in that we used in the first game, where the player was starting quite weak and then developing further. We did something very different in the second one and actually this is something I would like to have corrected when I look at Dying Light 2 from the perspective of three months after the release. So I think in the third game, if it happens, that the character will start with more powers, more skills, more abilities as his basic skill set.

In other news, Take-Two has said that it has to consider buyout offers for its shareholders but plans to stay independent, and Sony has released a list of launch games coming with the revamped PS Plus.
