EG to sign neaLaN and misutaaa – Report

Evil Geniuses are set to sign Sanzhar “neaLaN” Iskhakov from K23 and Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier from Vitality, according to 1pv.fr’s reporter neL.

The report says that the two players will replace Jake “Stewie2K” Yip, who has been all but confirmed to be on his way out of the team for months with rumors swirling regarding his future, and William “RUSH” Wierzba, both of whom signed with EG at the beginning of 2022 alongside Timothy “autimatic” Ta.

misutaaa is about to sign with EG following reports of his exit from Vitality

neaLaN‘s addition was first suggested by an early July report from Blix.gg, which also claimed that Copenhagen FlamesRasmus “HooXi” Nielsen was one of the candidates for the in-game leadership role. In recent times the 21-year-old Kazakhstani has missed several K23 matches, in which Dmitriy “ProbLeM” Martinov was seen playing instead.

Meanwhile, another 1pv.fr report from mid-July and a Wednesday update links misutaaa with an exit from the Vitality roster, with Lotan “Spinx” Giladi being targeted by the French organization for his replacement.

Changes have been on the horizon in Evil Geniuses for a while now after they were unable to put up any good results of note following the signing of the Major-winning trio, going out of the BLAST Premier Spring Groups, ESL Pro League Season 15, and the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown in last place and also failing to qualify for PGL Major Antwerp.

The results first saw coach Damien “maLeK” Marcel withdraw from his position before Evil Geniuses announced their ambitious plan to create a 15-man roster with the signings of EG.PA and EG.CD, a project called ‘Blueprint’ which now has former Cloud9 coach and data analyst Soham “valens” Chowdhury at the head.

Should the changes become official, this is what Evil Geniuses‘ roster will look like:

Bulgaria Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov
United States Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte
United States Timothy “autimatic” Ta
Kazakhstan Sanzhar “neaLaN” Iskhakov
France Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier

With these changes, Evil Geniuses would now be required to play in the European Regional Major Ranking tournaments, as according to the official Valve rulebook they would be considered as having a European majority following the merger of the European and CIS RMR regions.
