ENCE secure Roobet Cup playoff spot with win over MOUZ

ENCE have beaten MOUZ in a three map series, booking their place in the playoffs in the process. They first lost Mirage in a close 16-13 game, but then looked dominant on Nuke and Overpass, as MOUZ were unable to get into double digits on either of the maps. ENCE are now slated to face off against one of the second-placed teams from the other three groups.

MOUZ meanwhile are not eliminated from the tournament, as they will be playing in the decider series, which will be happening on Sunday at 19:00 , against the winner of the match Eternal Fire and Imperial.

Mirage was the first map of the series, and MOUZ got off to a good start on their map pick, winning the pistol round and then winning a battle of force-buys, going 4-1 up in the process. The scores remained very close throughout the half, and Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás‘s 1v2 clutch near the end of the half put his team one round ahead at the interval.

Mouz won another pistol round, momentarily extending their lead, but ENCE quickly tied up the scores at 10-10 once again. Neither team was able to run away with the map, and in the end, ENCE decided to go for two forcebuys after being 14-13 down, unable to convert either and losing the map 16-13.

Next up was Nuke, where ENCE started off their T side with a pistol round win, which they converted to a 4-0 lead. A Deagle 4k by Christopher “dexter” Nong got his team their first round, and they managed to get some momentum and tie up the scores at 5-5. A good finish by ENCE got them a healthy three round lead at the half however, as they moved on to the favored CT side.

Second pistol went in the favor of ENCE, and it enabled the European team to go 15-6 up after a couple of MOUZ forcebuys proved unsuccessful. They needed three map points, but eventually won the map and moved the series on to the decider of Overpass.

ENCE started off Overpass on fire, going up 7-0 before MOUZ were able to get their name on the scoreboard. The Christopher “dexter” Nong led team was unable to string more than one round together throughout the entire half however, as Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer looked to be one step ahead of his opponent at all times. That meant the half finished 12-3 in the favor of ENCE, making them massive favorites to close out the game.

MOUZ were able to win their T side pistol but immediately lost the following round, putting ENCE in the driver’s seat to win the map 16-4 and move on to the playoffs.
