SK Gaming Prime vs Valiance

On Thursday, SK Gaming Prime will take on Valiance, both teams coming off losses in their first games.

Predictions: SK Gaming Prime to win

Odds: 1.22

When: Thursday, September 01 – 17:00 CEST

SK Gaming Prime

SK Gaming have had a good year so far. After a middling spring at the PRM 1st Division, they signed a couple of new players and returned guns blazing in the summer. SK parted ways with Sven “Dehaste” Vidović, signing Swedish mid laner Kim “Phantomles” Storm from Penta 1860 in his place, and replaced support Patryk “Mystiques” Piórkowski with Fabian “Seal” de Lint.

The results were instant, and gratifying – in the summer SK finished second in the group stage of the PRM, and third overall in the playoffs. But their start to the EM – a sobering defeat at the hands of Team Heretics – hasn’t been ideal. SK could manage only 8 kills to Heretics’ 17, and went down in just under 32 minutes.

Valiance Looking To Bounce Back

Team BDS Academy were able to secure an easy victory over Valiance in their first game of the EM. It was a difficult, humiliating loss for Valiance, undergoing 29 deaths and losing their nexus in less 25 minutes. They could collect only 41k in gold as opposed to the 53.3k by BDS, and manage only eight kills between them, most of which were shared between David “ArcaneTeddy” Kingston  and Filip “Diva” Dadić. Valiance were flying high after winning the EBL 2022 Summer title, and it seemed as if their dramatic roster overhaul in June had paid dividends.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether their new team can perform at an international level with the big boys. Currently they have two junglers signed, Luka “kingggggg” Kralj and Mátyus “Frost” Mátyás, but kingggggg is the one who made the cut to the team. ArcaneTeddy and Diva were signed at the same time, joining bot laner Ivan “Paladin” Delač.

LDLC OL vs Anorthosis Famagusta

The teams in Group C will play their third round of matches on Thursday, with LDLC OL squaring off against Anorthosis Famagusta Esports.

Predictions: LDLC OL to win

LoL Odds: 1.12

Betting Site: Odds provided by GG.Bet

When: Thursday, September 01 – 18:00 CEST

LDLC OL

LDLC have been the most dominant force of the LFL this year, effortlessly winning both spring and summer titles. They are coming off a practically perfect summer, where they lost just one of their games in the round robin. LDLC suffered a minor slip up in their first round of the playoffs, losing 1-3 to team BDS Academy.

But because of their top seed in the group stage, they still progressed to the semi-finals and were able to defeat Vitality Bee 3-2. VITB didn’t want to give up so easily, but LDLC pulled through in the end to surge into the final. There they made short work of BDS, registering a thumping 3-1 victory to seal their second LFL title of the year.

Before that, they were runners-up of the EM in spring. Karmine Corp took home the trophy on that occasion, but haven’t qualified for this tournament on account of how they shockingly crashed out of the LFL at sixth place.

Anorthosis Famagusta

Anorthosis Famagusta are the only representatives from Greece at the EM this summer, qualifying through the play-ins alongside Gameward, Vitality Bee and SK Gaming Prime. They’ve been one of the best teams at the Greek Legends League this year, bringing home the summer title in July. After placing second in the standings, it was a smooth road to the championship – they beat top seed WLGaming 3-1, and swept past Team Phantasma easily in the finals 3-0.

Though Team Phantasma qualified as well for the EM play-ins, Anorthosis Famagusta were clearly the superior team between the two. They were excellent during the play-ins too, topping their group 5-1 and beating For The Win 2-1 to become the only Greek team to qualify for the Main Event.
