Faker First to 500 Wins in LCK

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has earned another record in League of Legends LCK history. The mid-laner for T1 has been recognized for achieving 500 wins in the LCK. Faker is considered to be one of the best League of Legends players in history and has since his debut in 2013 been an outperformer. Here is more on Faker and his 500 LCK Wins.

Faker debuted in 2013 as their starting mid-laner and proceeded to win their first World Championship. The win in 2013 allowed Faker to become one of the youngest champions at the age of 17. Faker also shares this achievement with Song “Rookie” Eui-jin, Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan, and Son “Ucal” Woo-hyeon.

However, what keeps Faker in the eyes of the world of competitive League of Legends is his general dominance over the game. Faker initially became the first player to reach 1,000 and 2,000 kills in the LCK.

As of July 10, Faker has achieved an all-time kill record of 2,604 according to the LCK. With a kill lead over players such as Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu with 2,132 and Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk with 1,960.

While holding the highest kill count in South Korea, Faker is still slightly behind in the world record. China currently holds two players with the highest kill count professionally in the world. As last reported in Mar. 2022, Rookie currently holds the record with 2,646 kills in the LPL. Rookie, originally from South Korea competes in the LPL in China. Just behind Rookie is Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao, however as he’s currently not competing, Faker will soon catch up to the second place.

Faker as of his 500th victory is standing with a 67.39 percent win rate for his total of 742 official games played

During his nine-year run in the professional League of Legends run, Faker has also achieved a total of three world championships, while T1 has somewhat faltered since 2017, after their two-time win streak in 2015 and 2016. Even failing to qualify for Worlds 2018 and 2020.

However, T1 managed to be a semifinalist for 2019 and 2021. They’ve still left their mark as one of the top teams in the world.

T1 and Faker have been performing well this year during the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and LCK in Spring and Summer. Defeating teams such as Gen.G and Fredit Brion. After Finishing MSI with a 75 percent win rate and LCK Summer with a 78.9% win rate.

However, they still lost against Royal Never Give Up (RNG) during MSI, it’s still early to estimate who will win the upcoming World Championship.

In the end, Faker is still one of the major success stories in the world of Esports, becoming one of the most successful players in League of Legends history. Three world championship titles, and becoming a part-owner of T1 Entertainment & Sports at the young age of 25.
