Falcons RB Damien Williams Out for Week 2

Damien Williams is out with a rib injury for Week 2. The new Falcons running back’s injury in Week 1 against the Saints gives way for Cordarrelle Patterson to take the bulk of the running work. The Falcons play the Rams in Week 2

ESPN’s Field Yates reported the news via Twitter on Friday.

The first four years of Williams’ career were played in Miami before joining the Kansas City Chiefs. While with the Chiefs, he played in back-to-back Super Bowls, winning one. After two years in Kansas City, he spent 2021 in Chicago and is now in Atlanta.

Williams notched two rushes for two yards in Week 1 before his rib injury kept him off the field. He had no catches or targets in his 10 offensive snaps. He has not been placed on injured reserve yet, which means he is still available to return in Week 3.
