Mediatonic has released Fall Guys update 1.40, adding new content and improvements to the quirky battle royale sensation.

Fall Guys update 1.40 is now ready to download on PS4 and PC – you’ll need to grab it before jumping into an online match. As part of this latest patch, all players will unlock the Fabulous Finback costume.

Gamers on Nintendo Switch and Xbox platforms may not have to wait a long for the game to arrive on their systems. Mediatonic claims that it is “finalising development” though no release date has been given.

We’ve granted you all the Fabulous Finback costume. We caught them running wild in the game’s code, and have given them a home in your inventory where they will be unable to cause further havoc. (Thanks for sticking with us even through turbulent times!)

Sweet Thieves has been added to Custom Lobbies!

Fixes and improvements

Further improvements to players experiencing crashes on PlayStation

Improvements to jumps being eaten on levels such as Hex-a-gone and Roll Off

Improvements to Round Selection in Custom Lobbies ‘Main Show’

We have also seen numerous reports of users being Inactive or AFK in Sweet Thieves. We are investigating this as a priority improvement for a future release.

Finally, just a quick PSA about upcoming changes coming to Fall Guys. Mediatonic recently confirmed that the current PS4 version of the game will stop working in May 2022. Here are the full details:

Starting April 5, the new Fall Guys PlayStation Launcher will be available on the PlayStation Store, and will be required to keep playing if you’re an existing owner of the game.
If you’re an existing owner of Fall Guys on PS4/5, the new Fall Guys PlayStation Launcher should appear in your Game Library automatically, and all content will transfer. Just hit the PS Library button when it appears!
Once you’ve downloaded Fall Guys from the new launcher, we encourage you to delete the old one to free up storage space. After April 5, the old launcher icon will be greyed out.
Claim your free Retro Shark outfit (available until the end of Season 6) through the DLC Store button in the in-game Store page and prepare for the glorious future of Fall Guys by downloading and installing the new launcher from the PlayStation Store after April 5.
