Fantasy Football Players to Add Week 13

Having a good fantasy draft sets a team up really well, but most of the time to win a fantasy football league, acquisitions need to be made during the season. Each week there are several players worth exploring on the waiver wire. Here are fantasy football players to add week 13. (Note: These are best used for standard scoring leagues. All players are owned in less than 50 percent of ESPN leagues)

1. Kyren Williams, RB, Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have cut Darrell Henderson now that Williams is healthy. Cam Akers is still getting back into things after not being traded at the deadline. All of this has opened up a larger role for Williams, who the Rams selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He had 11 carries for 35 yards and three catches for 25 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in week 12.

Williams may not have been ultra-productive in week 12, but the Rams were playing without Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp, which allowed the Chiefs to stack the box and stuff the run. He is going to get a lot of work, so he is worth adding for the playoff push. Williams is rostered in 19.4 percent of ESPN leagues.

2. Gus Edwards, RB, Baltimore Ravens

Edwards returned from a hamstring injury in week 12. He was a big part of the game plan against the Jaguars in the Ravens’ loss. Edwards ran the ball 16 times for 52 yards and a touchdown. He did not register a catch and also had a fumble.

With the Ravens taking a cautious approach with J.K. Dobbins return, Edwards can still be added and started for the time being. Even when Dobbins does return, the Ravens run an offense that make two players rosterable at the running back position. Edwards is available in about 60 percent of ESPN leagues.

3. Deshaun Watson, QB, Cleveland Browns

Rightfully or wrongfully, Deshaun Watson is eligible to return from suspension this week. The Browns have said that he will be the starter when he returns. Cleveland is scoring 23.9 points per game and has heavily utilized Amari Cooper this season.

Watson will be rusty, as he hasn’t played in an NFL game for almost two years. He did play in the preseason, but did not look great. Picking up Watson is a risk, but for managers who have spots at the end of their bench, he might be worth the pick-up. He is rostered in 43.9 percent of ESPN leagues.

4. Treylon Burks, WR, Tennessee Titans

After being injured earlier in the year, Burks has started to show some production over the last few weeks. He had seven catches for 111 yards against Green Bay in week 11. In week 12, he had another solid outing with four receptions for 70 yards against the Bengals.

Burks is developing well in his rookie season and should be featured more as things go on. With teams selling out to stop Derrick Henry and the run, he will have one on one situations he is capable to win. He is currently rostered in 37.5 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. Zonovan Knight, RB, New York Jets

Surprisingly, James Robinson was a healthy scratch in week 12. Michael Carter then went down with an ankle sprain. While Tyler Johnson got some work, rookie Zonovan Knight received the bulk of the carries. He finished the game against the Bears with 14 rushes for 69 yards and three catches for 34 yards.

It looks like Carter may miss some time. Whether Knight gets all of the work in his absence is up in the air, but he looked solid enough in this game to earn an opportunity. He should be added and stashed until there is more clarity around the running back situation. He is available in virtually all ESPN leagues.
