Final Fantasy 7 Remake nude Tifa statue goes straight to horny jail

Pre-orders are currently live for a new Final Fantasy 7 Remake Tifa statue. If the heroine’s provocative “Jack-O” pose and exposed knickers wasn’t enough, its creators are also offering a nude option. Let’s just hope the resin is washable…

As you might have guessed, no, this isn’t an officially licensed Square Enix product, despite the promo shots looking fairly legit. This 1/4 scale Tifa statue is being sold online via FavorGK, a digital store that stocks a variety of anime and gaming collectibles. The purposefully chosen pose mimcs that of Guilty Gear fighter, Jack-O, which is now a meme. Risking the judgement of your family, friends, and peers, you can net one of these for a tidy sum of $545 – shelling out a further $100 for that exchangeable nude body.

Of course, there will be one filthy corner of the Final Fantasy fandom that will snap these up, leaving the rest of us to cringe and tut in tandem. An unfortunate reality of the cyberspace we exist in is that just about every character portrayed in media is fair game for sleazy “media” and knock-off merch. Some will be wondering why there’s no nude options for the Sephiroth statues they sell.

Having just flogged its western game development studios and precious IP (including Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain) for $300 million so they can invest in blockchain stuff, Square is no doubt kicking itself for not coming up with this idea first.

Since making her debut in the original Final Fantasy 7 on PlayStation, Tifa has become one of the series’ most-loved characters. In Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we saw her in full force, brawling alongside Cloud, Barrett, and Aerith. In our review we scored the game a flawless 10/10:

An utter joy to play from start to finish, packed with memorable scenes, moustache-twirling baddies, and epic battles. The first part of Final Fantasy VII Remake isn’t just polished, it’s opulent.

But what comes next? Having ended on a cliff-hanger, Remake was followed up with a DLC chapter starring Yuffie. However, since its release in 2021 we’ve heard little about Final Fantasy 7 Remake part two. There’s still a huge chunk of the original game to adapt for a new generation of players, though we’re guessing Square is focusing its efforts on Final Fantasy XVI for now.
