FMV Detective Game Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? is Coming This March

Fancy catching a murderer? FMV game Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus?, arriving this March, will let you solve a killing in progress.

Assuming, that is, your detective skills are up to it. Uncle Marcus, the game’s would-be victim isn’t dead yet, but he’s been poisoned at a family gathering. Now everyone’s gone home, he’s feeling the effects of whatever noxious substance he was slipped and, by interrogating the attendees, you have to uncover the culprit.

We first got wind of Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? in December last year, though the teaser video wasn’t particularly revealing. Wales Interactive have revealed it’ll be out this March but, more importantly, they’ve put out a new trailer that shows how you’ll go about solving this crime.

Like Not For Broadcast, Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? was filmed entirely under lockdown. You interactive with the potential suspects through a Zoom/Microsoft Teams-style system so there would have been no need for the actors to be in the same room. You’ve got a limited amount of time to ask a question and, going by the trailer, you can also conference in other characters, presumably to expose contradictions.

In short, it sounds like a worthy use of FMV and a smart way to deal with the ongoing pandemic. Surprisingly, it’ll cast you as a specific family member instead of just some anonymous individual. Could you be the murderer? What if Marcus has chosen poorly and asked his killer to investigate their own crimes?

Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? will arrive on PC and Mac (via Steam), iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S this March 18th. Time to dig out those Columbo box-sets, we think.
