Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 11 – Spring

Series 11 – Spring sees the conclusion of Forza Horizon 5’s most recent season, but with that are a ton of new challenges, stunts and races. As always, we’ve got all the best cars and finest tunes that you’ll need in order to complete the latest Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges. 

Part 1: #Forzathon Weekly Challenge – Lightweight Experts

The subject of the normal “Do stuff in a car” challenge this week is a Lotus, but not just any Lotus. No, this is the Lotus Exige S from 2012. Called the S because it is apparently a lot faster than the regular Exige, which is in turn a more extreme, harder version of the Elise, this promises to be a bit of fun.

It is pretty much the pinnacle of Colin Chapman’s “simplify and add lightness” motto he apparently had when founding Lotus cars, all those years ago. You can obtain this car at the Autoshow for the princely sum of credits, or you can simply win the speed zone challenge this week, which will award you the car.

Chapter 1 – For the Drivers

Get in and drive your shiny Exige S. 

Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Lotus Champion

Surprisingly, given this things background, we have to go out and win a road race in it. Or maybe not so surprising after all…

Pick one you like and stock trim should be enough to get you through.

Chapter 3 – Full Speed Ahead

Next up we have to earn some speed skills in our little flying machine, 15 of them to be precise.

Get yourself on the main east-west highway and just drive as quick as you can to complete this step.

Again, speed skills are related to the top speed of the car you are driving, so no tuning should be required. It’s fun though, so I made this share code to try and blow the wheels clean off : 222816249.

Chapter 4 – Limitless

We need to keep the speed theme going here, and now earn six stars at speed traps in the little Exige. The highway we were just on has a few speed traps on, so maybe one last blast along there will get us what we need?

And once that sixth star hits the back of the net (you all keep your stars in nets, right?) then the weekly challenge is complete.

Part 2 – Weekly Challenges

We love the weekly challenges, mostly as they make up the backbone of what is in place. For Series 11 Spring we have the usual Seasonal Championships, some PR Stunts and The Trial. Ready for it? 

The Trial – Stock Showdown: Megane R.S.

Hopefully the subject of this week’s Trial Stock Showdown will handle a little bit better than last week’s, as that Volvo handled like its tyres were made of butter.

Renaultsport cars do have a good reputation for handling, so seeing that this week we have to use a Megane R.S., in stock trim, it should be a bit more fun.

Finding a team that understands that this is a cooperative race, and that when one does well, we all do well is a pretty big key component here, and if we can avoid driving into each other and concentrate on the driverbots, we’ll all do a lot better. May the odds be forever in your favour…

For managing to forge a team from randoms on the internet, we are rewarded with a rare car, the Honda Civic Touring Car kind of thing.

Seasonal Playground Games – Team King

Another invitation to play a game this week (it is a bit like SAW, come to think of it) and this time the game is Team King.

Team King involves some players having crowns, and after a little while the crown becomes a burden and they need to pass it on to a teammate. In the meantime, the other team is trying to steal the crown. All clear?

This week we are restricted to only Sports Utility Heroes, from 2010 or later, to a maximum of A Class 800. As always, the answer to this question is a Bentley Bentayga, a strong contender for the world’s ugliest car, and the share code is: 118494657.

The reward for competing (as win or lose, everyone’s a winner in Playground Games) is a Rally Fighter.

Speed Zone – Trebol

As per usual by now, we have to maintain an average speed across the zone – it is a lot easier to type it than to do it. 

This time the magic figure is 228mph, so we are going to need something silly fast, and with a restriction of 2010 or later and S1 Class 900, it will be a challenge.

I chose a Noble M600, and the share code is: 183334620. Approaching from the far left and trying to avoid all the traffic saw me right.

This will net us the Lotus Exige S we need for the weekly challenge, should we be feeling frugal.

Speed Trap – Gran Puente

The police in this country do not offer rewards for blasting past speed cameras as fast as you can, strangely, unless you count points on your licence. Luckily, Mexico is a lot more easy going, and so we have to take a S1 Class 900 car, from 2010 or later, and do 210mph past the camera.

I used the same Noble M600 I built for the speed zone. Again, the biggest challenge is traffic!

The reward this week is a Land Rover Defender, the 2020 model, which is nice. Nicer than a summons through the post, anyway.

Drift Zone

I am always that little bit happier when I see a drift challenge appear on the menu, and so imagine the smile on my face with this one. 

Take a Car in S1 Class 900, make it a fairly new one (after 2010) and score 150,000 drift points. Simples, right? Luckily, the Formula Drift GR Supra is ideal for this task, with no upgrades required. Shame I can’t use the older Supra, but rules are rules.

The reward for sliding about? A Super Wheelspin, as usual.

Seasonal Championship – Paving the Way

The first of the championships this week is going to be a fast one!

Take a Hypercar from after 2010, tune it to S2  Class 998, and then go racing. What could possibly go wrong? I went with a trusty Koenigsegg Agera from 2017 (the same one I recommend in the Hot Wheels section, money saving fans) and the share code is: 109282883.

Winning the championship, or best two out of three in a convoy, will net you a Porsche Cayman. Which feels really slow…

Seasonal Championship – Newcomers

This bunch of races promises to be a bit easier than the last, as while the car age restriction stays the same, the racing is now restricted to A Class 800.

I went with a Bentley Continental Supersport from 2017, mainly because it is already bloody fast and AWD, and the share code is: 102502146.

Winning will secure us a BMW M5 2018. Which is nice.

Seasonal Championship – Off the Road Again

Last but by no means least, we have the obligatory offroad races.

Again, we need a car built after 2010, and again it is limited to A Class 800, and this time to Unlimited Offroad vehicles. I went way after 2010, with the Halo Warthog from 2554. The share code for this beastie is: 980774271.

Blasting your way to victory (if only, eh?) will get you a Maserati Levante.

Part 3 – Other Challenges

Photo Challenge – #NEWCARSMELL

Let’s take a picture shall we?

This week we need the Toyota GR Supra (GR standing for Gazoo Racing, fact fans, Toyota’s racing partners) and we need to drive to the Horizon Mexico Festival and snap away. 

I’m going to try and come up with an appropriate livery for this picture this week, so check out my photo below and let me know what you think. I’ll also drop in the location in case you are confused.

Collectibles – Strike Gold!

It has been a minute since we last had a collectible smashing weekly challenge, and so it’s nice to see it making a comeback. This week, we have to find and smash 20 Golden Trophies in Club de Opalo de Fuego. How hard can it be?

I’ll share a photo of one before smashing, and also a picture of the area where you will find them.

The reward is pretty sweet, a Ferrari 599, tuned by Formula D. Let’s go sideways!

Part 4 – Hot Wheels Events

The Hot Wheels events are back with Series 11 Spring and whilst you’ll need to be Elite level to take them in, they do bring some more fun. 

Danger Zone – Canyon Fire

For this challenge, we need to take a newish car, from 2010 or later, and tune it up to S1 Class 900. Then jump off a ramp and clear 415metres!

I used an Audi R8 Coupe from 2013, share code: 123883076 and approached in as straight a line as I could. Using the circular bend with the speed boosters let me do it.

Jumping around will net you a Super Wheelspin.

Seasonal Championship – Warp Speed

This is an altogether more enticing prospect, a series of races in S2 Class 998 cars from 2010 or later? Sign me up!

Well, super fast cars and quite modern, why not a Koenigsegg? I went with a Agera RS from 2017, and its share code is 109282883. This thing can shift, believe me! Some eyeball recalibration may be necessary, I don’t think it went slower than 180mph all through the first race.

The prize for all this high speed tomfoolery? A Renault Clio. Not really in the same class, but nice enough, I suppose…

Remember, unless you’ve already completed them earlier in the Series, you’ll have a couple of Clean Hot Laps to take in across the Forza EV Los Jardines Circuit and Bahia de Plano Circuit. There’s also one more chance to enjoy the Made in Mexico story.  

Take in everything above and you’ll gain enough points to earn you the Spring rewards of the Xpeng P7 for 20pts and the BMW E92 M3 GTS for 40pts. Add in the full series rewards of the BMW M4 ‘21 for 80pts and the M-B 300 SLR for 160pts and things are that will be a job done.
