Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 19 – Spring

Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 19 – Spring

Spring has arrived in Forza Horizon 5 for Series 19 of the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges and with the change in season, a young racers’ thoughts turn to a new set of tasks winging their way towards us from the clever folk at Playground Games. Even old racers like me start thinking about them as well!

So, here we are as we spring into spring in Mexico, taking a look at the tests on offer, along with the best cars and fastest tunes that we can muster up.

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Black Edition

Now we are talking!

When I win the lottery, this is the car that I would buy, in white as I think a white Black Edition car would be endlessly amusing. Yes, it is finally the turn of Godzilla, the 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition (R35) to take the spotlight.

If you don’t have one in your garage (and if not, why not?) then you can acquire one from the Autoshow for 105,000 credits

Chapter 1 – Japanese Precision

Get in and drive your shiny new GT-R. Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Boost Pressure

Now we need to merely win a street race in our mighty steed. Should be pretty straightforward, just pick your fave track and off you go.

I’ve upgraded mine a tad to make this easier, and the share code is: 394811233.

Chapter 3 – Carbon Wing

Now we have to use the fact that the GT-R has a lot of bits made of carbon fibre to get six stars at Danger Signs. Due to the light weight, I guess? Anyway, same tune, and the Danger Sign on the Horizon Mexico long drag is perfect.

Chapter 4 – Faster Than Light

I’m not convinced that this car is actually faster than light, but it is pretty rapid. And what better way to prove it than by hitting a few speed cameras. Not having your photo taken, actually hitting them, three in total.

Weird, I know. And to make it that bit trickier, it means three separate speed cameras, not three cameras in total.

And with that, the weekly challenge is complete and we are five points closer to the first car reward for Series 19 Spring.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

Spring brings, as you’d expect, new challenges to have a crack at. A stock Trial, Eventlabs (woo) and the usual mix of PR Stunts and racing, alongside a dab of Horizon Tour. Let’s dive straight in, shall we?

The Trial – Stock showdown M-B E63

A stock AMG tuned saloon car and some racing to do. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, there’s a reason that most of my tunes feature AWD, and that is to avoid powerful cars like this eating their own tires on the corners! Still, we have to play the hand we are dealt, and at least I don’t need to tune this car this week. Maybe paint it a bit, though!

Simply grab a bunch of like minded racers from the internet and take on some unbeatable driverbots to win. As usual, the best two out of three races will see you take home the prize.

What prize? How about a Saleen S1 2018.

Eventlab 1 – Pato Bincidi Presents Ejime Track Night

We need to take a car, any car it appears, in the S1 Class 900 range to compete in this event, and then try to complete the course. I went with the same Nissan GT-R I used for the weekly car challenge, and this worked fine. This is actually quite a fun little course to have a go at. I know, I know – I half enjoyed an Eventlab.

For winning, we can take away a Lotus 3-Eleven.

Eventlab 2 – THEFILTHYHONEY Presents Bahia DRS Holiday Resort

We need a Modern Supercar car for this event, to a maximum of S1 Class 900. Of course, when someone says Modern Supercar, you think of a Nissan GT-R Black Edition! Yep, might as well get our money’s worth out of that tune, eh?

This track is absolutely awful, with one section where if you slide wide and off the track, you cannot get back on to the track making it a real chore to play. It’s good to see the rubbish Eventlab business back on trend.

We can claim a Super Wheelspin for completing this event though so you may as well give it a go.

Horizon Tour – Co-op Championship

We need to simply complete a Horizon Tour Event to finish this challenge.

As I’m sure you know by now, this is a series of races against Driverbots with a team pulled from the depths of the interwebs, with a little light point to point racing mixing in. As it can literally be any class or discipline, I can’t recommend a tune, but just take part and have fun.

You’ll gain a mighty 3 points towards the weekly totals for this.

PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Los Jardines

Step forward the BMW X5M Forza Edition, with share code: 519084427.

This certainly isn’t shy, and it fits the rules about car class – S2 Class 998. Flying off the ramp and soaring more than 600m will see us take the prize. I hit the ramp at 170mph and jumped well over the distance; just watch the run-up as the curves are deceptively tight

Another Super wheelspin will be yours if you fly far enough.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Camino del Cielo

If speed is required, I always reach for the same car – the Koenigsegg Agera RS, and my share code is: 109282883.

We need to blaze the zone at an average speed of higher than 140 mph, and this car should be okay to do it. There are some tricky bends, however, so practice your lines.

Should you manage it, another Super Wheelspin will be winging its way towards you.

PR Stunt 3 – Speed Trap – Federal Highway

As above, so below – stay in the Koenigsegg is the best advice I can give for this event. Hit above 280 mph to win!

This is known in the trade as “pretty bloody fast” so hang on tight.

Another Super wheelspin could be yours for keeping that throttle pinned. The run up is nice and long anyway.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Travel Light

A Retro Hot Hatch? In a C Class 600? Not going to be a rapid race, is it…

Still, I went with a stock Civic Type R from 2004, as it is at the correct level without needing to spend any pennies.

For winning the championship solo, or best two out of three if you can find a friend with time to game, we will take away a VW Golf R from 2010.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Glow Up

We need to use a Modern Muscle car for this championship, and the limit for tuning is A Class 800. Well, as always the answer to the Muscle car question is a Mustang, the Shelby GT500 from 2013 to be precise. The share code is : 402868577.

For fulfilling the same criteria as before, we will this time win a Chevelle from 1970. Not awfully modern…

Part 3: Other Challenges

Photo challenge? Check. And a little bit of Eliminator? Also Check. How about a Treasure Hunt? Check for the third time! There’s plenty on offer here.

Photo Challenge – #NeonPalms

We need to photograph any Modern Sports Car next to the Neon Tank at the Palacio Azul del Oceano. I’ll include the location of this tiny thing below, and also post my artistic effort.

One thing to note, the Tank isn’t awfully neon in the daytime.

The reward? A Horizon Raptors Tee. Woo.

Treasure Hunt – Shoulda, Woulda, Cuda

The clue this week reads “Don’t run out of time and in this Arcade you’ll do fine”.

I’m guessing this week we need to use a ‘Cuda to do an Arcade event, judging by the clue. I tuned my lovely Cuda up a bit to make it drifty, and then simply waited for a Drift event to appear. My share code is : 878203861.

If you prefer to do a different type of Arcade, then knock yourselves out.Drift is the best though.

I’ll share the location of the Treasure Chest below, and as usual it contains 100FP.

Eliminator – Battle Royale

Take part in the Eliminator and try to finish in the Top 30 of competitors. This is pretty easy, as long as you stay out of the way, and hiding in a bush is a perfectly valid tactic. Stay alive to win a great prize!

A BMW M5 ‘09 to be exact.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

Are you an Elite level player in the Hot Wheels expansion? If so, there are a couple of extra events to try.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – The Ribbon

Koenigsegg again for this, I think. The Agera RS, share code : 109282883. Should blitz the target of an average 180 mph, but mind the edges of the track that will really slow you down.

A Super Wheelspin is the prize.

Seasonal Championship – Burnout the Midnight Oil

An offroad race, and a class of S2 998 really only gives us one option, doesn’t it?Yep, it’s the BMW X5M FE with share code : 519084427. This should be sufficient to win!

The prize? A BMW M5 ‘88

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

Now that the new Rally Adventure expansion is live, we have an expanded roster of events to try. However, you will need to be the Horizon Badlands champion in order to take part. Assuming you have also triumphed, the following events become accessible this week.

Seasonal PR Stunt -Speed Trap – Canyon Rush

We need that Koenigsegg yet again, as the target class is S2 998, and the target speed is 205 mph. This will be tough, I’m not going to lie, but the Agera should do it

Hang on tight! A Super wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Wheel of a Time

We have to use a Modern Rally Car in the B Class 700 range for this event, and as always, my mind is immediately thinking “Evo!”. I went with the Evo VIII MR, and the share code is 141172186.

For winning, whether solo or in a convoy, we will get a Horizon Raptors Motocross Tee. Makes it all worthwhile, no?

Forza Horizon 5 Series 19 Spring Evo

And that, as they say, is Series 19 done and dusted.

If you’ve been following our tunes over the course of the series you’ll have picked up plenty of points in order to nab the season reward cars of the 911 GT3 RS4 ’12 (80pts) and Aventador J (160pts). If you’re still a teeny tiny bit short, make sure you’ve ticked off the ongoing Monthly Rivals events around the Bolo Ocha and Bahia de Plano circuits. You just need to race fast, and clean, in order to grab completion.

From there, Series 19 Spring should also be happy enough to drop the Cadilliac CT4-V and the Radical RXC in your face.

Looking forward to seeing what Series 20 has to offer? Well, place your bets!

It goes without saying that should you wish to take in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5 to hand. It’s present, correct and available to download on Game Pass, playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and even on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out.

Let us know if our tips, tricks and tunes help you with the completion of these challenges.
