Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 19 – Winter

Winter is not coming. See, in Mexico and Forza Horizon 5 at least, it is already here.

Luckily winter is the dry season in the world of Forza Horizon 5, and so we don’t need to worry about freezing to death at least. Now, as is now traditional, there are a whole bunch of new challenges to take on this week in Forza Horizon 5, as you get the chance to work through the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 19 Winter. Luckily we are here to try and recommend some cars and some tunes to use, to ensure you get the maximum reward from this week.

So, without further ado, let’s dive straight in and head for the weekly car challenge first, shall we?

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Shelby’s Muscle

I’m still not overly enamoured by the American Muscle car, but I do have a soft spot for the new Shelby Mustangs; they are a very good looking car. Maybe I can get one when I have my mid-life crisis?

Anyways, if you don’t have a 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, as it is properly known, they are a snip 100,000 credits in the Autoshow.

Chapter 1 – Sixth Generation

Get in and drive your shiny new Shelby Mustang. Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Burning Rubber

Lay some rubber down onto the road by earning an Ultimate Burnout skill in the Mustang.

This is easily done – build the revs while holding the handbrake and get those 11’s drawn! I’ve upgraded mine a tad to make this easier, and the share code is: 335181307.

Chapter 3 – Green Machine

Paint the car. Yes really. A shame really, as I think it looks brilliant in white…

Chapter 4 – Unmistakable

Now simply drive five miles in the Mustang, but obviously mind the newly painted bodywork! A trip along the highway should get this ticked off in no time.

And with that, the weekly challenge is complete and we are five points closer to the first car reward for Series 19 Winter.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

As Series 19 progresses, it’s a new week and that means there are lots of new things to try out. There’s the usual mix of The Trial and Eventlab rubbish in Winter, alongside PR Stunts and racing. Plus, there’s the monthly invitation to try a bit of Playground Games fun this week too.

The Trial – Stock showdown Nuissan Skyline GT-R 1993

One of my favourite cars of the past, the Skyline R33 GT-R is the subject of this week’s stock race, and as there is no tuning allowed, I can put my feet up for a bit!

Simply grab a bunch of like minded racers from the internet and take on some unbeatable driverbots to win. As usual, the best two out of three races will see you take home the prize.

What prize? How about a Porsche, the 356 from 1959

Eventlab 1 – SUBIE156 Presents Hot Wheels Super Scramble

We need to take a Rally Monster in the A Class 800 range, and then try to complete the course.

I went with an absolute classic, the #4 Ford Focus RS, the hero car of the new Rally Adventure expansion. Again, stock trim is fine in a one horse race.

The course? It’s okay – not the best Eventlab we’ve ever had the pleasure of driving around, but far from the worst. Give it a whirl.

For winning, we can take away an Chevrolet Corvette 1967

Eventlab 2 – VEIXITY Presents Osaka Sea Port //Street Race

A Track Toy is required here, up to a maximum of S1 Class 900, and so I went with a stock Porsche 911 GT2 RS from 2018, as I was feeling brave!

What a mess this course is. Why specify a Track Toy, then make half the course dirt? Bonkers.

We can claim a Super Wheelspin for completing this event though so you may as well give it a go.

Playground Games – Reach For’ward the stars

S Club this week and we need to play a game, and we need to play it in a B Class car, as long as it is FWD. Given that these games are usually played off road, I chose a stock Honda Civic Type R from 2016.

For competing (no need to win here, as we are all winners when we play together) we will take away an Ariel Nomad.

PR Stunt 1 – Danger Sign – Baja Showjump

Step forward the BMW X5M Forza Edition, with share code: 519084427.

This certainly isn’t shy, and it fits the rules about car class – S2 Class 998. Flying off the ramp and soaring more than 300m will see us take the prize. I hit the ramp at 170mph and jumped well over the distance, but the landing is tricky as there is a group of buildings right in the path.

Another Super wheelspin will be yours if you fly far enough.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Ladera

If speed is required, I always reach for the same car – the Koenigsegg Agera RS, and my share code is: 109282883.

We need to blaze the zone at an average speed of higher than 100mph, and this car should be okay to do it. There are some tricky bends, however, so practice your lines.

Should you manage it, another Super Wheelspin will be winging its way towards you.

PR Stunt 3 – Trailblazer – Barranco

Off road course, a restriction of S2 Class 998, and speed required? Well, best trot out that BMW X5M FE again.

We need to hit the finish gate with more than 35 seconds on the clock, and this car can monster it. Weave between the trees, avoid the rocks and it will be fine.

Another Super wheelspin could be yours for successfully avoiding the numerous obstacles.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Buggy Nights

We need, surprisingly, to use an Unlimited Buggy for this event, and the class restriction is B Class 700. I went with an Alumicraft Class 10 buggy,  and the share code is: 401432454. This should handle the off road shenanigans nicely.

For winning the championship solo, or best two out of three if you can find a friend with time to game, we will take away a Pontiac Trans Am from 1977, mainly famous for being in Smoky and the Bandit. Nice.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Home by Midnight

In case you turn into a pumpkin, I guess?

Well, in a GT car, tuned to A Class 800, you should be tucked up in bed safely by then! I went with a Bentley Continental GT and the share code is: 102502146. If you’re going to have to race, might as well do it in comfort, eh?

For fulfilling the same criteria as before, we will this time win a BMW Z4 from 2008.

Part 3: Other Challenges

Photo challenge? Check. And a little bit of Horizon Open? Also Check. How about a Treasure Hunt? Check for the third time!

Photo Challenge – #NeonHeights

We need to photograph any Drift car – any one at all just so long as it is next to the neon Tank at the top of La Gran Caldera.  I’ll include the location of this tiny thing below, and also post my artistic effort.

One thing to note, the Tank isn’t awfully neon in the daytime.

The reward? A natural leaf desert scarf. Woo

Treasure Hunt – Vantage Point

The clue this week reads “Horizon would be proud of your ‘Aston’ishing Basejump”.

Think we need to do a Danger Sign in an Aston Martin? I used a Vantage, to be on the safe side, and the Danger Sign I used was the Basejump one, at the Horizon Rush outpost, and getting one star is enough to win.

I’ll share the location of the Treasure Chest below, and as usual it contains 100FP.

Horizon Open Racing – Heavy Hitters

We need to use a Classic Muscle car this time, and that’s about as far as I can advise, as we don’t know what the class will be when you come to race.

Just remember, you don’t need to win, only take part, and you’ll get a nifty prize for doing so.

A Challenger ‘15, to be exact.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

Are you an Elite level player in the Hot Wheels expansion? If so, there are a couple of extra events to try.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Drift Zone – Rockslide

Sliding about, eh?In an S2 Class 998 car?Best send for the Hoonicorn!Stock trim is fine for this challenge, as we have a mere 190,000 drift points to gain to win. What could be easier?

A Super Wheelspin is the prize.

Seasonal Championship – Warp Speed

We need to use a Track Toy in the S1 Class900 range. I went with another Porsche 911 GT2 RS, but from 2012 this time, and the share code is: 128256081.

This should be sufficient to win!

The prize? A Lotus Cortina.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

Now that the new Rally Adventure expansion is live, we have an expanded roster of events to try. However, you will need to be the Horizon Badlands champion in order to take part. Assuming you have also triumphed, the following events become accessible.

Seasonal PR Stunt -Danger Sign  – Dunes

Off road and S2 Class 998 jumping about? This sounds like it will be, ahem, interesting! It also sounds like a job for the BMW X5M FE again, with share code: 519084427.

We need to fly over 250 m to win. Hitting the ramp at around 150mph let me jump far enough, but it is tricky due to a hump just before the ramp.

Hang on tight! A Super wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Neon Knights

We have to use a Truck this time to take part, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. I went with a Mercedes #24 Tankpool Racing FE truck, and the share code is 117572081 .I love this thing, it is so ridiculous to see a truck doing 170mph down the road!

For winning, whether solo or in a convoy, we will get an Apex Predators Cap. Makes it all worthwhile, no?

So, Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 19 Winter are complete. At least they are if you’ve already previously taken in the Monthly Rivals events too. If you haven’t, there are some points up for grabs by completing fast, clean laps around Bolo Ocha and Bahia de Plano.

After that, it’s all about ticking the boxes to grab the free cars on offer. Winter of Series 19 puts the Lexus LC 500 ’21, ATS GT’ 18 in your face, whilst the Series as a whole adds in the 911 GT3 RS4 ’12 (80pts) and Aventador J (160pts).

This Series concludes this time next week with the arrival of Spring – we’ll have another guide for you then.

It goes without saying that should you wish to take in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5 to hand. It’s present, correct and available to download on Game Pass, playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and even on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out.

Let us know if our tips, tricks and tunes help you with the completion of these challenges.
