It was back in September that we praised Tails of Iron for being a ‘stupendous Soulslike’, giving it a full 5/5 in review. Now though Tails of Iron is expanding – for free – with the addition of Bloody Whiskers.
An action-filled RPG in which you play as a rat looking to save their kingdom, if you’re after something that is immensely satisfying to play, comes with a beautiful art style and provides access to stellar writing and narration, then Tails of Iron is one to take in.
Now though it’s time for that brilliant base game to expand, with absolutely no additional cost to players, via the free Bloody Whiskers DLC. Rolling out today for players on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC, Bloody Whiskers is a significant new expansion which adds in a new post-game quest to Tails of Iron, along with two additional difficulty modes, five new bosses and a whole host of new armours and weapons.
And if that doesn’t sell it to you, the promise of a tasty little secret thrown in on top should just be the icing on the cake.
Bloody Whiskers makes Redgi the rat’s quest for freedom an altogether tougher experience than before – unless you take the less brutal Fairy Tail difficulty – and after initially defeating the tyrannical Greenwart, it’s now time for him to prove his worth in a deadly trial of combat. In all, the free Bloody Whiskers expansion adds all of the following into Tails of Iron…

- Five new gruesome and dramatic boss fights
- Five new outfits (includes the previously available Halloween outfit skins)
- Five new weapon skins (includes the previously available Halloween weapon skins)
- Two new beautiful rooms to explore, including the mysterious and previously locked King’s Chambers
- Two new difficulty modes: “Bloody Whiskers” – Hard Mode (not for the faint of whisker); “Fairy Tail” – Easy mode (for players wanting to experience the story without peril )
