Free Wrestling Royale Rumbleverse Grapples with PS5, PS4 from 11th August

We launched ourselves from a cannon in the recent Rumbleverse beta and were suitably intrigued by the title, so we’re pleased to see the free-to-play Iron Galaxy developed PS5 and PS4 grapple-‘em-up get a release date. Originally due out in February, the Epic Games published outing will now arrive on 11th August, with its first season set to enter the ring on 18th August.

“Rumbleverse has been a passion project for us and a real testament to the skills and experience of our team,” said Iron Galaxy boss Adam Boyes. “We can’t wait to see everyone pour into Grapital City and discover the singular joy of suplexing a friend off a skyscraper.” Much like Fortnite, the game features crossplay and cross-progression, so you can pretty much play wherever you like.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of legs this title has. Obviously battle royale games are big business, but this being more of a brawler with some pretty technical gameplay makes it a trifle less accessible than shooters. Nevertheless, we find the concept appealing and had fun in the beta, so we’ll certainly be spending 11th August in Grapital City. Will you?
