Frogun gets set to leap onto PC and console this August

Charming, highly anticipated and getting ready to launch on PC and console in August, Frogun has today been fully detailed and dated. 

Coming from the Molegato and Top Hat Studios teams, Frogun will give you the chance to get exploring a host of mysterious ruins – all with the help of your cute little Frogun as you go. 

For those who haven’t yet caught on, Frogun is a frog gun and it’s that which will be by your side as you take in the colorful, wholesome adventure that Molegato and Top Hat Studios (they previously behind REDO!) have created. 

It’s set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC (you’re looking at Epic, Steam and GoG) on August 2nd 2022, as gamers are given access to a 3D platformer that oozes in nostalgia. 

Frogun will see you playing as Renata, a young girl with the most unusual of sidekicks – a frog that’s a gun. It just so happens that this Frogun is also her best friend. 

Revealed in the launch date trailer below these words, in Frogun you’ll find that Renata has been left at base camp by her explorer parents, all whilst they head out on an expedition to the Beelzebub ruins. As you’d expect of a game and the narrative behind it, they mysteriously disappear and so it’s left to Renata to set out on a rescue mission. She goes to collect their latest invention – the Frogun, an intelligent, frog-shaped grappling tool, and discovers an adventure of a lifetome. 

Promising to be rich in depth, full of collectables, complete with a ton of challenges, and featuring vibrant crisp pixel graphics, players will get to journey with Renata and the titular Frogun through mystical jungle ruins, dark depths, freezing snow caps, and scorching lava swamps. And as you go, you’ll hunt for treasure, dodge perilous hazards, and fight enemies and challenging bosses along the way.

Dozens of levels await, as will encounters with other mysterious adventurers, and the chance to find unlockable secrets, collectables and in-game achievements, as well as notes left by pirates, raiders, and previous explorers of the ruins. And in order to satisfy the reward collection maniacs, Frogun’s coins can be traded for unlockable cosmetics and behind-the-scenes peeks. Upon 100% completion of the game, expect to unlock an expert time trials mode which provides a set of pro times to beat for each level and should serve as a speed runner’s dream, alongside a bonus dedicated speed-running mode.
