G2 to sign HooXi on a permanent basis – Report

G2‘s new lineup now looks to be complete less than two weeks into the off-season.

After a Dexerto report claimed that G2 have submitted Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen for their BLAST Premier Fall Groups lineup on Thursday, a new report came out on Friday from 1pv.fr’s neL saying that the Dane has been signed by the organization on a permanent basis.

His addition would come as somewhat of a twist following whispers that claimed that Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam‘s former Vitality teammate Alex “ALEX” McMeekin was one of the candidates to join G2 and that Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer was also among the names considered.

HooXi would come in as a surprise addition to G2

Reports also link G2 with the signing of Justin “jks” Savage, who according to Dexerto is also part of the lineup that was submitted for BLAST just in time before the roster lock came into effect on Friday.

The two players are set to replace Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen and Audric “JACKZ” Jug after the former announced that he had been allowed to explore his options outside of G2, while the latter was reportedly in the same situation.

HooXi was last seen playing for Copenhagen Flames, a team where he was the in-game leader, who garnered impressive results in the past year, especially in the last two Major cycles, finishing 9th-11th at PGL Major Stockholm and 5th-8th at PGL Major Antwerp.

The team broke apart following the latter event after the small Danish organization was unable to find a buyer for the whole team, which saw Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi and Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgensen join fnatic and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard signed by Heroic, leaving just Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss and HooXi teamless.

G2 will reportedly field the following roster:

Bosnia and Herzegovina Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač
Bosnia and Herzegovina Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
Russia Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
Australia Justin “jks” Savage
Denmark Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen

France Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam (coach)
