Apex Legends has seen an uptick with Gold Knockdown Shields with the creation of the IMC Armories. This has caused the community to ask for some type of change for months now. It really wasn’t much of a problem before as the item was hard to find. It’s hard to complain about something that rarely happened. But since players are finding a lot more of them on Storm Point, it makes sense that they want changes
During an interview with The Loadout, Respawn’s Evan Nikolich answered a question directly about the legendary knockdown shield.
“I will not commit to anything at this time, but we are evaluating and changes will be coming in the future.”

The real question is how long until we see that change. While Respawn has been aware of the complaints for some time, Nothing has been done so far. And even with developers asking for feedback, players seem to be giving the same feedback over and over again, and still, nothing has been done.
Most likely because it’s a hard balance to find. The Gold Knockdown Shield has been a staple in the game since its inception and has never been a problem before. If Respawn can fix the number that players find in a match, then they may find a temporary solution.
