Golf racer Golf Gang swings for release in May with one final playtest next week

The fast-paced golf racing game Golf Gang will release on 19th May for PC, Lazy Monday Games and publisher Curve Digital have announced. If you want to check it out ahead of time, though, you can hop into one final playtest that will be held from 18th-25th April, next week.

Golf Gang takes the resurgent minigolf genre and remixes it with madcap multiplayer races against the clock. Everyone is battling to get to the hole at the end of a level, not just with as few strokes as possible, but also to get there quickest. With up to eight players in a multiplayer lobby, with collisions able to knock you off course, the ability to hit the ball while still in motion, it’s pretty chaotic. That’s before you throw in an array of wild and wonderful gameplay modifiers, making it an absolute riot.

We played the game at WASD Live last week, and said:

“When there’s already plenty of well-established mini golf games out there, Golf Gang needed a hook to stand out from the crowd. With the all-out craziness of eight-player multiplayer and modifiers combined, it’s an absolute hoot, and I look forward to playing more when it comes out.”

The game will be priced at a thoroughly reasonable £7.99 / $9.99 / €9.99, but if you want to try before you buy, then a final playtest will run from 18th-25th April. All you need to do to join in is head to Golf Gang’s Steam page, find the ‘Join the Golf Gang playtest’ section and then click ‘Request Access’. You’ll then receive a confirmation email and will be able to download the game.

As a quick little bonus for the playtest, using the cheat code ‘rosebud’ will unlock coins to buy skins and custom items that will apply during the playtest.
